Door Edge Paint Repairs on M240i?
Hello...just bought a near pristine CPO M240i. The only flaw I can really find is a scuffed driver's door edge (see picture). I applied the BMW touch-up paint with a "Size 0" flat edge artist's brush and it blended perfectly color-wise. However, it was still somewhat "blobby". I then used the Langka touch-up kit and while it smoothed out the blobs...it bleached out the touch-up paint. I talked to a reputable body shop and they recommended a respray for $350. I really don't want to keep monkeying in my garage with touch-up paints...especially in the southern Arizona heat. Is there any real alternative to a total door respray?

I've not experienced Langka "bleaching out" paint - it's just a solvent that will remove the excess/thicker area when used with a flat polishing tool (credit card wrapped with a T-shirt has been my go-to). Build the chipped areas up slowly & let it dry before buffing it. Save room for the clear coat.
