This isn't going to be a hardwired solution but I have resorted to plugging the V1 into the back seat cigarette lighter socket in the back of the center console and running the wire up and along the pillar all the way to the front windshield. It tucks nicely under the velvet trim and rubber seals so it looks the same as hardwired and I never see or use the 12V in the back anyway.
Nobody ever sits in my backseat so it's not a problem. Unlike my F30 though, there I think there is always power supplied to it even when the car is off so you have to manually turn the V1 on and off. I turn mine off anyway so I would need to test it to make sure but that's really the only real downside. |

I also run my detector off the power outlet in the rear of the center console. On my 2017 M240i at least, the outlet does turn off within a couple minutes of shutting the car off, so I never have to power cycle the detector.

I don't know about the M240, but my M235i (RHD) has a plug under the glove compartment. I plugged into that and ran behind the glove compartment and up behind the A-pillar trim. I thought it would be temporary but It's been there for six months.

There should be a plug somewhere, but it's probably hidden inside the plastic shroud surrounding the mirror base and the safety camera. That's where I plugged my mirrortap for power for my V1, but I have a 2018 car.
Can't imagine the mirror has changed between 2018 and 2019, unless they updated it to get rid of the ugly-ass clown nose and make it frameless or something?

I'd love to add that back in as an OEM+ touch... but the power source is probably some crazy ass place that's like 5 feet behind the dash or something.

I used the rain sensor connector, for both my R3 and DR900S. Total draw on the 5A circuit is around 2A.

I did hardwire my Beltronics though down the fuse box. Works as expected.
