I did replace the plugs last summer. The coils are still original. I've just gotten used to having to supplement ethanol when running stage 2 maps. I will run stage 1 91 OCT map when only using 93 octane and no ethanol.

With spring supposedly around the corner, I ceramic coated the summer wheels again. Shopping around for front rubber replacements, the shoulders are bald and middle nearing wear bars. Not bad for 2017 rubber I guess.

I can't recall where I got my break in instructions but I went with a 1200 mile break in and then a fluid change. Right after installation you are supposed to do a bunch of figure 8's, and several left and right full-clocked turns. Then mild to moderate driving until after the fluid change.

Brought my car to the dealer for oil change and alignment. After a little over 10,000 miles my rear tires are 2.52mm off the wear bar, the fronts are 4.09mm. I asked the dealer to rotate the tires back to front and they said they don’t do that. Why? The tires are the same size all around. Is there something I’m missing? It’s a M240i x drive, tires are Continental DWS06+.
Also, I’ve read a bunch of posts saying not to just replace on pair of tires with x drive due to issues with the varying sizes. Seems like I’m naturally going in that direction. |

Yes, with xDrive the tires should be within a certain range of millimeters tire to tire, front to rear. You are close to needing to replace all four - with 2-3 mm left it's time to shop!

This may be true, but it won’t be because of the ethanol in E10 or E15. Sometimes, ethanol is added to poor grades of gasoline to bring it up to standard. Pure ethanol when sealed will last a while

Ventured out for a rip yesterday and ended up having to backtrack down some muddy dirt roads. I have never seen my car this dirty and will need to go through the car wash at least twice today. But it was fun sliding the rear around and trying to stay out of traction control. Feels like weather is turning a corner here and the snow is melting.

You will love this: checked the psi on my all seasons currently on my car. The rears were at 41 psi after warming them up. I'm sure the summers are about the same.

Will most likely run some techron and 93 as a wash before going E50 on dyno to make sure the system is at full potential. From the butt dyno… BM3 OTS 2+ E50 is strong. |

Replaced the F23 door switch trims with open pore CF pieces made by Faserschmiede. Perfect match to the M Performance CF door handles.

When I bought the car I noticed a dribble of salty residue on the rear headliner near the 3rd brake light. I figured maybe someone test drove the car before me in the wet with the window down or something.
Fast forward almost almost 2 years, I ran it through the touchless carwash as I usually do in the winter and noticed a dribble on the rear seats again. This likely has been happening with high pressure sprays and I just didn't notice in the past. Turns out the roof was wrapped at purchase and since I unwrapped it at the first chance I got, it was quickly forgotten. Guess where the leak was? I didn't put 1 and 1 together until 2 years later So since I left the antenna wrapped, and since the antenna was fastened by the previous owner's wrap shop by pieces of double sided 3m tape (OE uses a consistent bead of urethane). There are locating pins which go through the roof sheet metal. Those holes allowed water in due to a poor seal around the antenna. Thankfully it hasn't been coming in as a flood that would damage the interior, but maybe I would have noticed it sooner. Anyways, the antenna is finally unwrapped and sealed up again. |

Dont have anyphotos yet, but tapped boost at the chargepipe and ran a stand alone boost sensor that will go to a prosport EVO boost guage to show analogue boost numbers just like the F30.
If anyone wants installation info I can make something up! |

Planning to do a proper write up sometime this summer with more details about the wheels machining and history of the car being my 3rd bimmer.
For today, short intro of how i got the car with 40k km from BMW ; 2019 M240i, M/T, propulsion, no sunroof, Dinan : intake, mid-pipes, exhaust rear section & elite dinantronics stage 1. Last year i added a few quality CF parts : eye lids, grills, bumper inserts, mirror covers and spoiler. For this year: Dinan Turbo Inlet, Dinan Springs & stops, BMW Performance discs, Stop Tech Sport pads, CF Dinmanm diffuser, CF side skirts extensions, front lip and some wrap for the roof and bits. Here's a few pics for the share but not everything is installed yet.. I'm so stoked so far with the toy!! Should you want some more pics, i'll start posting more "finished" looks on IG: Cheers! |
