Stage 1 BM3?
I am on my third 2 series (currently 20' m240i xdrive).
The current setup: - Dual resonator delete - M Performance exhaust - M2CS wheels I love the car, and it is pretty fast (having owned an m2c for a short while); however, I have been really wanting to tune the car with BM3 or MHD. The primary reason is to remove the speed limiter and mess with the exhaust burbles. I just want some reassurance that this is a good route to go to get a little more sound and speed out of the whip. Thoughts? Last edited by Kemps2Fast; 02-27-2023 at 02:50 PM.. |

I believe you should be good with a stage 1 tune with that mod list. Stage 2 is what calls for a highflow downpipe. Just be cognizant of your fuel quality and run logs to check for throttle closures, timing corrections, things like that which are typical indicators of not having enough octane/poor fuel quality.

Absolutely, the ease of use offered by BM3 and MHD is worth the price of the tune, even if sticking to Stage 1.
Since both offer on the fly map switching, you can simply set different maps to have different burble settings, then drive around using each to see how aggressive you end up liking your setup. If you get BM3, you'll also be able to transfer/sell your license once, but I don't believe MHD has that option. |
