Transport Blocks on my M240i
Hey Guys! I have received my M240i in the past month. I have noticed a weird/harsh ride with the car not handling as well as I thought.
I have started looking around and it seems like there could be a problem with my transport blocks not being removed. I have checked that and remove the front blocks https://down.uploadfiles.io/get/v941b This part I should have removed, right? However coming to the rear, the part is a bit different and has a big black thing attached to it. What should I do? Do I need to remove it? https://down.uploadfiles.io/get/xmqs5 Last edited by Aviachen; 07-09-2018 at 05:48 AM.. |

For the rear, the black part is a boot to protect the damper piston from dirt and debris, attached to the "additional shock absorber", part #5 on this diagram: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=33_1619 Your suspension harshness is not due to these essential components, it may just be the nature of the suspension tuning that you are not used to, or a malfunctioning adjustable suspension if your car is fitted with it. |

My car is fitted with the adaptive suspension. When I put it in Sport mode, the car feels very wavy on certain roads, not firmer or something. It can just wobble and make the ride very bad. It does not happen on Comfort mode. What do you think is the reason? Is there a known issue in the Adaptive Suspension? |

You did just tell us about 'removing the front blocks' that were actually bumpstops? gotta think that can't be good for the handling, and perhaps you unplugged part of the adaptive system as well - it is dealership time I think. You might also try to get them to let you test drive another car w/ the same suspension, for comparison.
