That little black plastic box with the led light on it? I tried it. It did nothing for me so I removed it.

I'm trying to find pricing for BM3 vs MHD. I swear I had found the F-Series pricing for MHD listed before but can't track it down. BM3 is $595 correct? Anyone know pricing for MHD without the monitoring? Thanks!

Yeah that's the one. It didn't work at all for you?ive read when people leave it on they stop working. It worked for my friend but he just connects it for a couple days before emissions. hopefully it works for me or I just wasted $99.

Well, I paid A LOT LESS then that, but I don't want to give misinformation since perhaps there has been a change since MHD has gone public with it's tunes.
My phone is an android device so I use my phone for flashing/monitoring/data logging, so no additional cost there.
Start here: http://mhdtuning.com/
Then you can just go onto the Google Play Store and see the pricing for the MHD products.

Old android phone or tablet I think most people have this laying around or can get it for really cheap! And the cable is available for the same price as the ENET OBD cable.

Yes, you do need a cable: $20 (generic) - $45 (fancy). I had one of these already but bought a fancy one as the transfer rate is higher. To flash your car and immediately experience a massive increase in performance it costs $350. (+ a cable if you need one.)
If you want data logging, that's an additional cost; but some will be interested in it and some won't.
You don't need a tablet, just an android compatible device.
After 10 years of iPhone, I went android this year and I doubt I'll go back to Apple, so I am very happy to use my phone for flash/data logging/gauges.
If you still have an iPhone then there are multitudes of cheap android tablets for ~ $50, and it's a useful toy for other purposes if you have to buy one.

Can any end users post data logs? I'd love to see what boost, timing and afr's look like on the flash tunes. Thanks

Check out the BM3 and the MHD threads, as logs are usually posted there. Start in reverse-chronological order so you can see what the latest revisions look like, rather than outdated stuff that you won't receive. BM3 guys actually have a separate thread for logs as well (no discussions), but that link can be found in the big BM3 thread.

Awesome, thank you! I don't know where I got those numbers from then haha Luckily I have the tablet and KDCAN cable already from my old N54 running an MHD tuned bef.

I've hit an issue with BM3. Trying to go from stage 1 91 octane to stage 1 93 octane because I made a mistake when I loaded my first map. I hit the error shown in the attached file though. Their support has been great, so I'm confident that I'll get this resolved soon.

try deleting the map from 'my maps' and get a fresh copy. when you do so, click the download and flash later.

Yup, that was the first thing I tried. :/

After updating the app on my phone and updating the agent on the wifi device I've been able to flash.

So, after flashing to Stage 1 93 I went back to Stage 1 91 lol. I found the 91 octane map to feel more aggressive. Just slightly, but enough for me to notice and miss it.

more aggressive? how so? what mode? perhaps the 93 octane map felt less aggressive because it was pulling timing due to subpar fuel? did you ever log it?

I'm using 93 octane. I originally thought that I was using 91. I really don't look at the pump beyond making sure that I pick premium.

It just felt like there was more power from 2,500 rpm and up. I didn't log it though. The 93 octane map still delivered over stock, but the delivery is almost too smooth whereas the 91 octane map has a noticeable bump in power. Someone on the F30 forum also noticed better performance with the 91 octane maps. I'll see if I can dig that up.

The logs look spaghetti to me. I can try to do some tests though. I'll find somewhere that I can do some proper logs and someone smarter than I am can compare them.

make sure you include the fuel octane and brand. safest bet is to use tier one suppliers like Mobil, shell, Sunoco, etc..

you're doing logs of both the 91 and 93 octane map right?

Yeah, I'll do a couple logs of each map. I only use Shell premium gas.

Still need to get a set of logs for the 93 octane tune. I just wanted to report that I got a cel on that tune though. Running rich in bank 1 was the code.
