M235i square wheels staggered tires
Hey everyone,
Just picked up a low mileage M235I Xdrive. It has staggered 225/40r18 and 245/35r18 pilot sports on it and I assumed the wheels were also staggered. I stuck my phone in the wheels and took pictures of the stamps on the back of the wheels today and it turns out the wheels are actually square 18x8.5. The difference in tire diameter is 1.2% or 0.3". Is this ok to run or should I make some changes asap? Thanks! |

If your M235 has stock wheels, they are 7.5" in the front and 8.0" in the back. There are no 8.5" OEM wheels for the M235/240.
OEM staggered tires on M235/M240 x-drive and RWD is 225/40r18 and 245/35r18 so you're fine. If you're running aftermarket wheels that are 8.5" wide, you "might" be able to run a 245/35R18 in the front assuming the offset is correct or you address it with camber correction parts and/or wheel spacers. Running a 225/40R18 on a 8.5" wide rim is fine. It's a little stretched but is within the recommended wheel width range of 7.5" to 9.0".

Need to know the offset before we can make a recommendation. Making a 245 on an 8.5 inch wheel fit in the front on a stock car is really, really tight.
