Thumbs up F1 GP Austin TX (Oct 23) - Recommendations

Good evening All,

Wife just surprised me for my birthday this year with a trip to Austin, TX to watch the F1 race.

I know this is a little last min but I am looking for recommendations on which hotels to stay in. Where at on the course to get seats....and anything else you can think of that would make this trip a lot of fun. We would be flying down actually on my birthday, 10/20 - 10/24.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you,
Jeff

If you have GA tickets, the best place is the first few turns. 1,3,5

It's hectic there - I know my buddies tend to rent an RV camp and sleep there. I hear it's an inexpensive option but haven't tried it myself.

You'll have a blast.

Thank you! Looks like GA for the Friday qualifier are still available. Saturday is sold out and they haven't released single day tickets for Sunday yet. I think I found a hotel, will need to see how far away it is. Might be able to catch an Uber or Lyft so the wife and I don't need to get a rental car.

Went last year and stayed at Hotel Granduca. There is a shuttle within 3 miles of the hotel that can take you to COTA. Go merchandise shopping early since a lot of things sell out fast. It can get really hot. Bring sunscreen and water. Walk the track as there are many things to do and see all around the track. If you like BBQ, make sure you go to Terry Black's in downtown Austin. Enjoy!
