That is what I have been trying to educate the physicians about for many years. I haven't personally heard of a death due to lack of premedication. However I do know of death due to anaphylactic shock as a result of taking high dose of premedication.

I always have the cardiologist or orthopedist assume the risk of death and write the prescription for the patient. And when I've presented my concerns they have also said they don't want to assume the risk. Gotta love our litigious society.

Tx. Is there a theory for the cause of these mutations?

I had a hip done in 2013. It took my dentist and myself 5 years to get the surgeon to agree to let me stop taking 4 gut-killers before every dentist visit. But we did it.

Neal Stephenson has it at -23 (and -27). Guess we'll see.

The AHA and AMA only recommend pre-med for the first three years. It used to be for life. I'm glad your dentist was proactive and became your advocate.
