Newbie here(Chicago/Naperville)
Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I recently purchased a used 2015 m235i xdrive. It's my first BMW. Looking forward to meeting some more enthusiasts and getting it out on track/auto-x days!!

Welcome to the board. Looks like we have very similar cars (also my first BMW). You'll love it. There are a couple 2'ers around (I'm up in Kenosha) and I'm expecting to see some others at the track this year.

Good stuff. How long have you had yours?
Yea I'm planning on doing autobahn in Joliet a few times this summer as well as some Auto-x, probably with the Porsche club cuz I've run with them for a few years now and they do 4-5 events.

I've had it a little over a year now. It will be nice to have some company out there this year.

Awesome. I've put about 600 miles on it over the last month and loved every one. As for the track driving. Have you had to do any upgrades or had any issues with the way it handles the high speed driving? Just curious.

I haven't done any upgrades for high speed handling other than tires. The car is very stable. I am limited to 130mph though. I did put an intercooler on to help keep iat's down. The brakes get incredibly hot, but still work.

I'm in the same boat. Car came with the all seasons so my limiter is 130. Not too concerned about that I've had my Boss302 at autobahn on the full track and I don't think it ever hit more than 130. I've heard that about the brakes. Well most street car brakes struggle on hard track day use no surprise there. I just can't wait to try it out.

I don't think I ever got over 120 at Autobahn so definitely not a problem there. If you make it to Road America there are two areas it becomes an issue.
What kind of lap times were you turning with the Boss 302? I'll be interested in your driving impressions between the two once you get a chance to track the M235. |

Yea Road America is a whole different animal haha. Never tracked there yet. You know what I don't know my times in the Boss, I always ran in an HPDE and never timed it. It was great on track but in a brute force kind of way. No finesse straight line braking and acceleration only. It definitely feels like an "old school" car. I'm interested in how the BMW will feel as well. On the street it sure feels playful and well balanced.

No but it came stock with the All-season tires and square set up which I've read is limited to 130.... Also may have tested that theory out a few weeks ago while driving across some obscure county road in central Illinois.
