Coding gear shift indicator in a manual M235i

I coded my 2016 340i so it would display actual gear and in a smaller font, the suggested gear.

I have figured out how to deactivate the indicator, but the coding to show actual gear doesn't work.

I saw one mention here of changing the numeric value manually for SPA_IST_GANG_ENABLE from 3000_1_1_64 to 3003_0_0_16

Thought I'd ask before I try something stupid.

This is for a manual, not automatic with manual shifting.

Anyone find a fix?
