Question what is involved in upgrading the Instrument cluster on a car (M235i) with no nav?

Hi:

I have a US 2016 M235i convertible. it has the base instrument cluster (all mechanical gauges, no "M235i" on the lower right). It also has base audio, and no MOST fiber optic bus to the headunit.

What is involved in updating the instrument cluster? Do I need to add MOST cables between the IC and the HU? I believe I do. I know some coding will be required, and I have bimmerlink, e-sys, and ISTA.

Is there a good video or step-by-step to see what is involved? I'm not committed to doing this, just trying to get a sense of how big a project it is.

Thanks!

Dave

It’s not that difficult but you would need a virginazed Cluster and someone to program it after you install it on the car.

Are FSC codes required, or can I just adjust the FA codes with e-sys?
