Got enthusiastic today and installed the aftermarket shift paddles that have been sitting on a shelf since I bought them in the winter. They definitely are a big improvement.

Easier to install that I expected too. Small springs and pins don't usually play nice with all my thumbs.

Just replaced thrust arm bushings, upper radiator hose, coolant flush, and oil pan gasket. Still need to do spark plugs and remaining fluids.

Took it on a road trip to Niagara wine country (Canadian side) then to visit my brother for the first time since the pandemic, then back home through Thousand Islands and down I81. Averaged 28.0Mpg on the whole trip, and had a lot of fun!

Removed my JB4 piggyback tune and sold it to someone with a 2020 M340i. Broke the news to my wife that the proceeds will pay for the MHD flash tune I'm about to buy. Waiting a day or two for her to process/settle into the idea.

Driving the car now there is clearly less power but the delivery of it is much smoother and clean in stock format.

Dr. Pigment spray-on wrap in Porsche Signal Orange by Silver City Autobody. Looks great, goes on as smooth as paint, protects the OE paint underneath, and should last 5+ years with proper care.

Interesting!

What's the general price range to have the product applied to our cars?

He cut me a nice deal to be his first guniea pig and my permission to use my car to promote the product locally, but his regular pricing for this service will be around $3-3.5k and up depending on color, size of the vehicle, etc going forward.

Looks good for a "not a paint job" recolour! How is the orange peel (pun intended)? It looks pretty smooth for the most part.

Good for you, in every way: color, (presumed) price, exclusivity...that's a real win.

The $3-3.5k and up price seems reasonable for what you've received and assuming a quality product and a job well done.

I was just looking at Porsche's paint-to-sample color palette, which includes some (all?) of the marque's historical colors, and I couldn't stop drooling. I'm old enough to remember when many of those colors were on local Porsches, and I still see some of them during an annual Porsche car event that takes place where we live. I'd go with the Gulf livery if I had a Porsche and decided to get the custom paint job at the factory.

If I was to have my BMW repainted (which, at a top shop here would cost half what the car is worth at its currently elevated valuation), I'd go with my favorite car color of all time: Ford's Wimbledon White. I'm not sure, but I think Ford first used WW on the 1964 Mustang. I like it because I favor white cars, and WW is still the most attractive I've seen.

Porsche's PTS palette is wonderful - but serious wallet burn.

It's relatively good, considering the plastic-y paint can't be wet sanded like a traditional paint. The passenger skirt fades through a little in the back corner (m-perf blade stickers incoming!) there's one slightly uneven run on the driver's door about the size of a dime, and the door jams stuck to each other and bubbled in the heat (maybe covering with an IND Future Classic sticker?). But yeah, overall super happy with the quality fot the price.

Had that quick squeak on changes in engine load and little wobble in the tensioner, so I replaced it (and accessory belt) today. Quick and easy job, no more wobble and no more squeak!

And it was cheaper than replacing the cabin air and engine air filters last weekend. (Can't believe how much filters cost for this car. )

I got myself a really nice carbon cover for my fob today. The quality came much better than expected and I'm absolutely in love with it. But sadly my wife couldn't appreciate it, what do you guys think?

mid 5th gear pull, about 3/4 throttle. Love the sound...and torque. Can't wait for catless dp and fmic next!

Yesterday replaced the spark plugs with new NGK's. Realized how accessible and easy it would be to replace the stock HPFP with the B58 TU one. Now adding that to the long list of things I want to do.

Added the TU pump and flashed MHD Stg II+.
It's 91 degrees with 125% humidity outside, but I swear she pulls harder from about 4k to redline.
