2014 220i N20: timing chain replaced at 56k miles — is it a good or a bad sign?

Hi,

I was looking at a used 2014 220i which had 5 owners (in Finland), and the last owner had replaced the timing chain at 56k miles. The service report says that the customer brought their own parts (including a non-original tensioner) and asked to replace them preemptively, but the engine was working fine.

A few months later there's another report: misfires and stalls, which were solved by replacing all spark plugs and ignition coils (at 57k miles). The owner then sold the car a few months later.

The car otherwise has full BMW service history, lots of receipts and written service reports. No issues at annual inspections either.

I'm trying to understand whether this is a good or a bad sign. On one hand, all previous owners kept the car regularly services at BMW, and the latest owner seemed to be worried about the timing chain issues, so they replaced the chain preemptively. On the other hand, who knows, maybe there were some problems not included in the receipts and reports I've found? Also, that timing chain + spark plugs + coils were pretty expensive jobs, why sell the car just a few months later?

I'm new to BMWs, and don't trust my intuitions when looking at used deals. I wonder what do more experienced members of the community think?

I would avoid buying the car, it sounds like more of a headache than it's worth
