Loss of Power with Traction Control Off

I own a 2014 6 speed 228i f22 and I have experienced a slight loss of power when going into traction control off mode. When you hold the traction control button for 5 seconds the car goes into "sport oriented mode" instead of sport mode, and was wondering if there was anyway to be able to change this and be able to take advantage of the car's full powerband and throttle response?

That mode reverts to the normal throttle mapping. You still have all the power. You just don’t have the extra twitchy go pedal.

^ This.

A chart showing the F22 driving modes may be useful:

Is there any way known to be able to configure any of the driving mode to be able to have the twitchy throttle; or any other stability systems etc. Like tuning the ECU?

There may be a few ways.

Here’s a recent past about throttle remapping:

Does Sport + w/ DSC off also have twitchy throttle? I feel like it does, it's how I usually drive. This is with ZF8.

Sport+ does not allow for DSC Off. It's either one or the other. Sport+ has the Sport throttle, suspension, and steering setting and allows for some wheel slip and slide. DSC Off is Comfort throttle, Sport suspension and steering, and E-Diff. No nannies other than ABS is active in DSC Off.

I'm not sure why anyone wants the 'fast' throttle. I find it annoying on street, and unusable on the track. It is so much harder to modulate the throttle accelerating out of a turn when it is in 'fast' mode.

The fast throttle mapping reminds of so many underpowered cars with a big throttle tip in so that you think it has more power. But then it just bogs down. Our cars have plenty of power. Using the regular throttle mapping makes it easier to use that power smoothly and responsibly.

Also, ask yourself, if the 'fast' throttle is so good, why is standard throttle the choice for the full track mode, 'DSC Off' setting? Because on track, you want that fine control of the throttle. Not some twitchy response.

100% agree. I can't stand the logarithmic throttle response.

Look at my username and understand that I have a different opinion about this.
I don’t find the responsive throttle to be twitchy at all. On the contrary, what you call “modulated” application of “comfort” throttle, I find to be ham fisted.

Because I prefer to drive with DSC off (which also means “comfort” throttle), that leaves me learning to drive with exaggerated foot movements instead of delicate ones. So I understand the desire to access a responsive throttle in my preferred driving mode.

That said, learning a car (and adapting where it won’t) is all part of the fun.

I've literally went into Sport+ first, then held down DSC until it turns off. The display shows both Sport+ and DSC off, as opposed to dynamic traction. I've used this to do a doughnut or two.. That's what I was wondering.

Now after some time playing with different configurations per that chart, I have noticed a difference in throttle response between :

Sport + w/ DSC OFF = comfort throttle with sport everything

and

Sport + = twitchy throttle with sport everything

This is what I have come to realize.

Now, I also have access to an '21 M340i, and yes on that one its Sport + or Comfort, no in-between. So it seems the earlier '16 M235i software allows for the difference in configuration.
