If there is an M2 it will be comprised of spare M4 parts. Won't happen for at least another two years...

well the 435i at 46k doesnt include adaptive M suspension nor variable steering nor m-sport package nor M sport breaks...and I can keep going...

ah yes also no LSD option....
435i has been announced as having lsd option afaik.

Should be similar to the F30 328i.

Sport gives you sport accents (wheels, etc), but not the full body kit, while M sport does.

Sport also gives you red key, and red interior pin stripe, black shadow line trim, etc.

M sport normally gives you a blue key, option of blue interior stripe, M bits/full body kit.

I am guessing that the "sport" 228i is the dark grey one shown in the images, while the M sport 228i is that blue one.

I'm guessing the 228i M sport gets fogs like the E82 because there is no need for the additional cooling.

Thanks for that clarification. So would the blue brakes be standard it an option in the 228i if I chose to get the m sport

it really depends how BMW options it.

I believe on the 4er, they are an additional 650 bucks.

On the 428i. The M sport package costs 3,500 (body kit, sport seats, and interior bits). And if you want the M sport brakes, they are another 650, which is really worth it IMO since the performance brakes are the same brakes, different colors, and are about a 2k option.

However, I am not sure, but I would assume the M sport brakes can only be had if you get the M package.

Show me where...

It's not here http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=876754
There's definitely a LSD option for the 435i M Sport. Don't think it's out yet, but there is one available. I don't think pricing as been announced either.

I think it will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show? Maybe Jason or Scott could clarify this....

Ya I'm looking at the 228 with m sport. Looks like the m sport in the 1 series is much cheaper. Man this is killing me. When are they going to release full spec pricing

Any idea if the M performance parts can be factory installed or is it a dealer install?

Looking at the fogs why does the red 235 have no fogs but the blue m sport have them? Am I missing something? Is the m model the same all around?

Factory installed, as in Port installed. Parts will be included on the Monroney sticker along side all factory installed options, and will soon be 100% residualized

Red one is M235i

Blue one is regular 2-series with M-sport package. M-sport on base model have fog lights, just like the 128i. The 135i M-sport and 135is have no fog lights.

Ooooh. So I am guessing those rims on the red one will not be coming On the 328 either.

The wheels on the red one are bespoke to the M235i.

Sounds like dealer install after arrival. I choose to believe an M2 will arrive in 2-3 years but until then, the M Performance parts get it pretty close to what an M2 would be.

Here are some guesses on M-performance pricing:

$44k for M235i "base", but likely will be pretty loaded up
$2500 + install for LSD (probably the only must have factory upgrade)
$1800 for 19" wheels
$1200 for Pilot Super Sports for new wheels
$1200 for suspension (does it take away electronic damper control?)
$3000 for upgraded brakes (probably a waste of money)
______
$53,700 + install costs ($50,700 without brake upgrade)

More predictions:
When an M2 is brought to market I bet it goes with the 1M formula and borrows parts from M4 (as many others have said), except the S55 is detuned to 360hp, 350tq. This will probably be priced $62-65k by the time it comes out. The M4 will start at $75k and go up to $85-90k.

So this M235i right now is priced correctly and is fantastic on paper for those who aren't able to wait several years. For the rest of us, we'll enjoy or current cars for a few more years still.

Also looks like the side mirrors are color match on the 228 m sport. Specs say interior will have blue trim? Again is that standard or an option. Not everyone wants blue

if you go to BMWusa.com, just build a F30 3er or a 4er.

M sport normally gives you something like, hex aluminum trim, normal aluminum, or black.

Then for the pin stripe trim you can get blue, or silver.

I think on wood trims you can get silver stripe only.
