Insurance
Hi,
I am wondering which insurance company do you go with? I tried Allianz but they refused to insure my car because of the value of the accessories / options i have on my car. Thanks!! |

AAMI has cheap premiums but the catch is you can NOT nominate your own repairer
Suncorp owns AAMI and they have set up their own repair centres. This all points to self regulation which is a bad thing. Good chance is that you wont get genuine parts and there will be repair rectifications down the line. Always make sure your insurer enables you to choose your own repairer. Not all repair shops are equal.

I'm insuring with Youi when I get my car... cheapest by far and also 2 years new for old, genuine parts and preferred repairer.
Mind you there are only a few companies that will insure me due to my age. |

I went with the BMW/Alliance product, after shopping around. Alliance was the cheapest of the open market products, and when BMW ran the numbers it was no dearer to go through them to get a better policy. The regular Alliance policy doesn't have 3 yrs new for old, or choice of repairer, and it is more expensive to pay by the month (which isn't the case with the BMW product).

I'm insured with gio lifetime new for old. Agreed value 88k. Choice of repairer. In my area eastern suburbs sydney it's cheaper than even aami, youi, just car etc.

I went with RACV. Allianz, Shannons etc were >3k!
AAMI was cheapest but as aforementioned, no choice of repairer! Youi was only marginally cheaper than RACV, so went with the more reputable company. |
