Gave my car its first good wash and tried some Optimum No Rinse for the first time. I was a little bit leery about doing this, but am happy with the process and results. I went to the DIY car wash and gave the car a good soap and rinse. Then came home and went through the Optimum process using pre-spray bottle and then a single small wipe with a clean, wet area of a Costco microfiber wash cloth. I went through about 10 clothes with 16 wipes per cloth. I'm still looking for a good spray on wax I can use after this process during the Michigan winters.

Here's a good review of three spray-on products that should last through the winter. I personally use P&S Beadmaker about once a month as a protective top-coat over my GTechniq coating and it works great, although it's not the longest lasting product. It's so easy to apply; really no different than a detail spray as far as ease of use is concerned.

If you are open to a sealant product, Adam's H20 Guard and Gloss works quite well. Sprays on a wet surface, post-wash, causes water to immediately run off, and remainder dry easily. Leaves a slippery shine. I use every couple of months and is very quick and easy.

Had my rear windows tinted 50%. Decided against the fronts due to the Law in the UK apparently becoming tighter on any tint for the front

i'm late in posting: picked her up on friday from BMW collision center after receiving a "love tap" on the rear bumper from an inattentive driver in DC. the love tap was at less than 10 mph...probably more like 5 mph...so no structural damage.

she has a freshly painted bumper and new strip of sport line molding.

Smile Trying to improve commute gas mileage

My commute is approximately 8 miles on surface roads. Since my 230i is tuned I don't drive very economically. So, I configured Sport mode to chassis only and turned on the start-stop function. It added 3 miles per gallon. Now I am getting 20 mpg vs the 16-17 mpg before.

No pics yet, but I installed gloss black front grilles and swapped out the crappy Pirelli Cinturato All-Season Run Flats for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

I cracked a windshield while pulling onto the highway!

I was looking to my left at merging traffic and heard a quiet pop. When I looked back to the front, there was a 18" or so long crack along the bottom of the glass. This occurred about 5-10 minutes after I started the car this morning. It was just below freezing and I had the defrost on; I'm guessing that it was thermal shock. Not sure why it happened this morning though; I've used defrost on far colder mornings!

Finally got some tint and did a reflector delete! Couldn't get a wash before pics, it's -10C here today. Unfortunately front tint is illegal here but I don't think it looks too bad.

You likely already had a small chip/pit/crack, especially if you do a lot of highway miles. They can hide for a while, but will eventually give way in colder temps as you experienced and form a longer crack. Sounds like it's time for a replacement. Been there a few times and it's no fun. Sorry it happened!

Just installed the BMS clutch stop. Best $10 I’ve spent. Stock clutch throw is too long; clutch stop makes shifts so much easier and faster.

Installed the ER chargepipe and a turner intercooler yesterday. I only drove it in comfort mode since the install due to heavy rain recently, but hoping to open it up more today.

1st mod. I just did the driver mirror. The passenger side doesn't blind me like the driver side.

HJS Euro 6 catted downpipe installed. It's glorious. The sound, the power, the improved throttle response, and the OEM build quality are all excellent.
