I'm going with a slightly more realistic list.

Slightly larger fuel tank

LED head lights standard, not necessary fancy self-leveling ones but something better.

No increase in size or weight.

No big ugly grill

Edit: Also slightly wider tires would be nice, but not if it's going turn the car into a fatty to do it.

- LSD standard on M240i (if it has "M" in the model designation, it should be able to accelerate with some degree of control and without torpedoing into the oncoming lane)

- factory bucket seat option

- manual transmission option

- no increase in wheelbase or exterior dimensions (if you want a more practical car, go buy a 3/4-series)

- option to delete ugly and unnecessary parking sensors from our bumpers and the moonroof as well (so glad I have a 2018 for this reason!)

- stock wheels that look good with proper width and offset to use 255r/235f tires (finding aftermarket wheels that can handle 255r/235f tires without excessive wheel poke is nearly impossible. I want them to look tucked like a stock M car)

- larger fuel tank (even an extra 1.5 gallons would be great)

I can nitpick beyond that, but realistically, the list above is what it would take for me to even consider trading in my car in the next 5 years. Otherwise, my current 2-series makes me so happy that I can add the LSD and be happy with it for a long, long time.

M cars have wider fenders in order to accommodate the wider wheels/tires.
The fenders on non-true-M models will always be narrower.
Just curious: does any mainline manufacturer have a factory bucket seat option?
I echo your sentiment, though, on the current model. It ain't perfect but it is just about as good as it gets for the price and class.

Porsche has real, fixed back, with shoulder pass through and submarine strap holes, carbon fiber buckets on their R, GT, and some touring or special edition sports cars.

Corvette has adjustable buckets, less hardcore than the Porsche ones but they seem usable. They had to make them wider and cushy to accommodate their core "wide and cushy" demographic.

True about fenders. However, the narrower body of our 2-series cars can still accommodate 255r/235f tires on 9" and 8" wheels, respectively. 9" et50-et52 and 8" et40 would get the job done perfectly. Problem is no aftermarket wheel company offers this ideal width and offset combination. The BBS CH-R wheels I sold recently had a perfect 19x8et40 in the front and looked absolutely OEM perfect with 235 tires and 12mm more poke than stock, however the rears were 19x9et44, which poked 21mm more than stock and was not aesthetically pleasing (to me at least - too much poke). Again, an ideal wheel setup is certainly possible for our cars - it simply hasn't been done yet.

As for bucket seats, BMW needs to take note from Porsche and give "The Ultimate Driving Machine" some Ultimate Driving Seats to put their money where their mouth is. The fact that they don't even offer them on true M cars is pretty damn sad.

FYI, you can run a 265 on a 9.5" wheel on the F22. All about offset/fitment.. I've even seen a 10" wheel with 265's fit out back.

ABSOLUTELY! Cloth seats are more comfortable in heat/humidity of Summer and not frigid (unlike Sensatec or Leather) in the Winter. I really enjoy the cloth seats in our MINI. And these look amazing too!

Not at all, I worded it poorly. I meant it is a shame it isn't available at all on the 4 cylinder... I have a 228i and would want it! But not for 3 grand...
