Passenger Window only rolls up while holding button

Hi there,

2017 M240i -

Just started happening about 3 days ago.. Basically, the "convenience one touch roll up" feature or what ever it's called does not work on the passenger side..

I've seen threads on other BMW forums related to resetting the window (holding it down all the way, release, pushing down again for 20 sec, then same process up), but it's had no effect.

Any other ideas before I add it to the list of warranty requests?

Thanks!

Yes indeed. I've also tried "Resetting" it from both sides.

The "Quick Down" works fine, just not "up".

I do think that the window electronics have a sensor that detects resistance and cuts off any type of quick-up closing for safety reasons.

I need t play with my car and see what happens.

Try rolling your windows all the way up. Then press the up again and hold it for 20 seconds. I think you just gotta reset the one touch thing.

Here is the full procedure, with initial conditions such as battery voltage state and doors being closed. Holding the button down for 20 seconds clears the auto up feature: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...lator/1LKsK9oT

If this doesn’t work the anti-trap system probably has a problem.

Thanks

I'll try it again, maybe with a bit more patience.

Worse comes to worse, I have a service appointment soon.

I had the same problem. Holding the button down for 20 seconds didn't help me at all. Dealership told me they get offline sometimes and it was an easy fix. Good luck.
