Meguiar’s Ceramic Wax on my Estoril Blue 2 series

I’ve been waiting for months for the release of this new product from Meguiar’s, their new hybrid ceramic wax. Ive always used their products and was excited to finally try out a ceramic coating of sorts. It is not a true ceramic coating but at $14, it was worth a try.

I followed their directions for application on a wet car to establish the base coat. I think I may have used too much because I had lots of chemical streaking. I think in the future 2-3 three sprays per panel will be ample. After letting the product sit for a bit, I decided to wash the car again to remove excess product. I was much happier once I did that.

The water beading is impressive, I even coated my rims. I don’t recommend getting this stuff on the windows. It is a mess to get off. Anyway, just wanted to share and I’ll be curious to see how long the product holds up.

Does the hybrid wax get buffed out or just wiped down as if you were drying ?

The directions say on the initial base coat to spray the product liberally on wet paint and then dry with a micro fiber towel. For future applications you just spray the product on after washing and then just spray off and then dry as normal.

I did a maintenance wash today and applied a little more product with just spraying on and washing off. The beading of water was amazing and the car was so easy to wipe dry. I’m sold on how easy this will be to maintain. There was no real need to do this so soon but man this stuff gives a crazy amount of shine and depth. The paint feels like glass plus now my wheels, headlights, twilights and glass is all coated. In 6 months, i’ll Just spray on more product and rinse.

I bought it on Amazon. Plus when I bought two ($25) it made the shipping free.

Crazy...try .com. Even with exchange and shipping it'll be better than $50!

I used this the other day. I was not impressed, I watched plenty of videos on how to apply. I think a real wax or sealant is still better. Most of it washed off when I washed the car.

Did you establish a good base coat by rubbing the product in? I think my first usage was way too much product. See how you feel about it once you do a maintenance wash. I noticed how slick the paint felt and how easy the car was to dry along with the crazy amount of beading.

I do think I used a little too much. The paint did feel very slick though!

I had this idea in my head that I was spraying a product on I needed a lot for better coverage. I was completely wrong since I had never done this type of application. I’ll be anxious to know your impressions after you wash the vehicle again.

Just an update: I've spoken with Meguiar's about the chemical streaking I've had on two vehicles I've done so far. They said that using a second drying cloth after you wipe the product down for the base coat should remove any residual product and be streak free.

I'm loving this stuff. Ive done 3 vehicles now and will be doing another next week. Meguiar's is claiming 5-6 months of protection and reviews on you tube seem to support that. After the initial base later, it's just a matter of spraying on and hosing off. The 3rd car I did for a friend and used less product. I also went back with a different drying cloth to remove and streak. Turned out great.
