Adding alarm- Got car with clown nose.

So I didnt order the alarm for 2 reasons

1) cost/no need for one
2) the stupid clown nose.

However upon pickup of my m235, What do I see, the stupid clown nose.

Now that I have the stupid nose, can it be made functional?

I suppose you could custom wire something into it (there are a number of DIYs on getting it to blink to pretend that you have an alarm). However, the old "plug the alarm module into the compartment and away you go" option went away in 2009 when they stopped pre-wiring all cars for the alarm and only did the wiring if you factory ordered the alarm.

Is getting it to at least blink doable with coding, or does that require wiring as well?

Thanks for the info on the plug and play option being dead, alot of info I found was still based on that.

From what I understand (could be wrong here), you can't code the current ones, as there's no wiring to the nose. A sample circuit to add some wiring to do so appears in this post: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=921822

Thanks for the help...

I'm going to spend my time and money on different mods,

Might get a real clown nose to cover it up, or draw a smiley face on mine.

It's been called that for years. Used to be red.

A trip to radioshack might do?

Get a little red led
Get a battery
Get some kind of motion sensor, make it blink when car has been motionless for a few minutes...
and shove it up there?
