I’m storing mine in a second garage. Any concern with the OEM tires and the cold temperatures? Namely cracking or extreme flat spotting?
Garage is uninsulated. Just bought it, car sadly only has 100 miles and I’m just looking at it |

A few months should not be an issue, any flat spots will roll out when weather warms. Just don't move the car once parked. Summer tires have been known to crack when extremely cold. Park it, cover it and dream of warmer days (or move to Florida).....

I've never had an issue with the tires. Just over inflate a few psi and u should be good. Just make sure you store the battery properly cuz they are silly expensive.

Thanks everyone. Battery on trickle charger, I assume that is sufficient?
Also, the bunkerwall tire supports don’t seem wide enough for 265 tires.. at least they don’t seem ideal. People complain about driving up onto them but just jack the car up! Last edited by CasopoliS; 12-08-2018 at 01:28 PM.. |

They can snap together to make wider, or there are others. Driving up is easy if you don't have a super slippery garage floor or you just put a mat underneath. Don't jack the car up. Leaving the struts at the dropped extension is not good long-term.

I cope by putting on winter tires, wrapping the summers, and storing them in my bedroom closet.
I also take the car out for an hour or more every few weeks to get the drive train components up to their operating temperatures. I do that when the roads are clear and dry, and there is no precipitation forecast. While in the garage, I keep the CTEK trickle charger hooked up.

I meant jack it up and lower it onto the tire supports, which is what I plan to do. Thanks!

I love winter driving my cars, we live in one of the most snowy places in the world with salt on the roads for about 5 months of the year. To date I have not had any rust issues, I generally do Krown every year or two and run through a car wash once a week when the weather allows. We have about a foot of snow on the ground already!
