What’s the added benefit? Minimal saved space?

You get a matching wheel and have the benefit of if you ever curb one, just swap it out, and a full size tire will take you as far as you need to go. I’ve had days of waiting on a new tire in this size to come in. Why risk it?
That's a good point. I've got staggered wheels so I'd just have to make sure the fronts would also fit the rears (probably not a problem). A new full size wheel and tire might be ~ $450-500.

Hub Centric rings are only required when the wheel and hub flange size are mismatched. Is for ensuring the whell is centered. Honestly, this is not totally necessary as if you install the wheel correctly, or, snug each bolt one at a time, cross pattern, and THEN tighten, you'll be centered.

Anyways...

The compact spare for my 2009 JCW r55
MINI Clubman needs a 12mm spacer to
clear the rear JCW brakes, but the
tire/wheel/jack/tool tray fits nicely out
of the way in the spare well.
On the other hand, the compact spare/etc.
strapped to the floor of the trunk of the
M240i convertible does take up up a bit
of real estate.
Awesome! Thanks for the information

Im pricing it out, you can get a refinished wheel and new tire for about $380. Less if you want to go used.

then you just need someone to mount the rubber on the wheel. runs about $20 around here locally.

Another possible option is the hemorrhoid donut spare tire option (I hear it corners well):

Vive Inflatable Tailbone Cushion - Hemorrhoid Pillow Donut for Pregnancy, Piles, Coccyx Pain Relief - Orthopedic Treatment Doughnut Seat - Ring Chair Pad for Prostate, Sciatica - Inflate Assist Valve https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07146JPWL..._C2bZEb9DST5P9

Serves multiple purposes.

I have the Bimmerzone in my M240 convertible. It does take up some space, but I've not had any major issues with it. It's a minor inconvenience. But, I prefer to have it back there for all of the east coast potholes. Had one of my BMWs towed by AAA once and won't make that mistake again. I think AAA and BMW both use the same regional tow-trucks. I know for a fact that AAA and Audi use the same network. Around the DC area they aren't too good. I like to keep it back there just in case:-)

Used the E90 set up with spacers

See my ad in the wheels/tires section if you want to buy my old one.
I got the recommended setup for the E90; when I tried it on the F22 it scraped the rear brake caliper (duh).
Adding 2x 5mm spacers and extended lug bolts and it works.
Never would go too far on a doughnut like this, but beats waiting for hours for a flatbed.

Took my run flats off my F23 bought a sealant
Compressor kit from Griots unless it's a
Side wall blowout should be good enough to get
Home or to a tire shop the F23 has a small trunk to begin with a spare would eliminate it
I've had 3 flats in 30 years
One run flat blowout from a pothole and 2
From screws which were repaired
