MPBBK on 228i xDrive
I recently replaced the stock rotors and calipers on my 2016 228i xdrive for M Performance brakes. While they work well, I encountered a problem with the inner diameter of the rotors being larger than stock, despite selecting the rear rotors (34 21 6 797 598) which are designated as being for the smaller wheel bearings. Consequently, my e-brake shoes lack sufficient grip on the inner diameter.
After researching, I found that there are two sizes of brake shoes (165 and 185). I'm wondering if there's an adapter ring available to compensate for the difference in size? Swapping to larger shoes might not be feasible due to fitment issues with the current wheel knuckle. Last edited by F22x; 07-28-2023 at 08:12 AM.. |

I ran into a similar issue when I put the m2 brakes on the rear of my m235, the brake drum part is bigger and you lose the use of the e-brake. In my case you have to change the whole knuckle, if somebody made some sort of adapter I would pay dumb money for it.
