Good to know, I might consider the next gen, top-tier standard 2 series, if it's offered with a manual option..

We were pretty sure about this, but good to see confirmed. Now just want to know that the M240i will continue to have the latest B58 not become the M235i again with the B48.

Now I just need a B58TU1, manual transmission and some red seats, then It'll check all the boxes for me. |

However, I was wrong about the FWD/RWD layout, so maybe I'll just hang on to that sliver of hope that it would indeed have a manual option. |

Thankfully its keeping a RWD layout but two more things still need to be confirmed,
1) Will it come with a manual transmission? 2) Will an inline 6 be available, or will BMW pull some BS and make the top trim the B48 M235i?

Sadly though it appears the rumors regarding no 2 Series convertible seem to be true. I think if a 2 Series convertible were part of the plans, we'd know it. That just leaves the Z4 M40i or the M440 / M4 as an option for me when the time comes. I am anxious to see the 4 Series vert fully uncovered. It's a shame because the 2 Series vert is the "goldilocks" BMW, not too small (Z4) and not t0o big (4 Series). I need my top down motoring, so a coupe just isn't an option for me.
