Apex EC-7s with square 255s and lowered
I finally got my new wheels on so I thought I would provide some details and pictures as another data point for those planning a change. I personally don't think it could look much better in terms of fitment.
I'm running a square setup with PSS 255/35R18 on Apex EC-7 18x8.5ET45. The fronts have 7mm spacers and Turner hub extenders. My car has Dinan springs and Dinan camber plates (yes, they rattle). I wish I could tell you the camber, but I don't have a lot of faith in the alignment I got...I asked for 2.5 degrees but results were suspect. Also, the car may have settled since the alignment. I'm delighted with how it came out. Anyone know a good alignment shop in Houston? Bob |

Looks great. Thank you for sharing it will help others that are going with a square setup.
I'll be going 255 square soon. Got my coilovers last Friday, but they came with the old 3 bolt camber plates. Need 5 bolt on my car.

Love the way the car sits, nice ride!
When you get those installed, Alex from MP should be able to help you out with coding EDC

Do you think a 255 square set up would work with the same wheel size but lowered with H&R springs and without camber plates and spacers in the front?

Also, H&R springs drop too low to fit a 255 in the front. I tried it -- didn't work, had some serious rub.

What would you recommend as a maximum size tire for the front on a 18x8. et45 wheel lowered on H&R springs?

I think 245 section width on an 18x8et45 will fit and not rub without any mods. It's very close to what Ramos was running.
The basis for my opinion is that my 18x8.5et40 clears the strut. 18x8et45 gives another 1mm or so clearance to the strut, and more than 10mm to the fender.

Yes, rear camber is at -2.0. It's really amazing how much more obvious the camber is in the front. I guess it's the curvature of the body work that makes it more obvious in the front.

No need to roll the front fender with this. I keep looking at it wondering how much more fender clearance I have left. I could definitely reduce the spacer from 7mm to 5 mm.
I just hope Dinan fixes their camber plates soon... |

Did you consider running 245/35 up front? Does it really take such a beefy tire up front to counter understeer? (especially since you have camber plates)

How much camber is needed to cleanly fit 255 in the front? I haven't lowered my car but I do have the M3 LCAs and tension struts so I'm at about 2 degrees.

I run more than 3 degrees negative camber, F8x LCAs+TSes, rolled fenders, and 255/35r18 MPSSes on 18x8.5et42. This gives me essentially zero clearance to the strut, but avoids rubbing in essentially all situations. 255s are possible with above setup and 18x9et36 wheels (also zero clearance to the strut), but I had rubbing in some situations. Basically, you need to be ready to do some fettling to get it right.

Oh yeah: adding camber using the F8x bits don't help with fender clearance, they actually hurt.

Just to add to the square setup info (we should have a square setup sticky).
My setup: 18x9.5 +45 255/35 RE71R 20mm front spacer (make sure you have extended studs or lug bolts) Front fender roll (not sure if required, but did it preemptively) KW Clubsports (comes with camber plates) Shorter front main spring to raise lower coilover perch (gains inner clearance). 3* front camber 2.5* rear camber 265 square may work, but then it becomes a matter of rear fender clearance. Pics with suspension compressed:
