Warm central tunnel?

During my virgin trip in my brand new M235i I noticed that the central tunnel (just behind and below the central console armrest, at the side wall between it and the driver's seat) feels warm when touched. Not hot - just warm. Considering the external temperature just around 10 C, and my rather mitigated driving style in the break-in period - is it normal?

Never felt any local "patches" of high temperature in my F10 (also 8AT); would it just be the difference in cabin insulation? Or should I visit the service to check the AT in my new M235i?

In my E90, that area turned warm or even hot if the temp control for the backseat ventilation vents was turned to the hot direction (red). Basically it was affected by the temp of the air being pumped to the back seat. Haven't experienced it yet in the m235i, but it's worth checking.

Interesting theory - must verify it... Anyone else can confirm there is nothing to worry about?
