Weird engine code need clarification.

I apologize in advance if the is the wrong section for this topic.

I have a 2014 228i Msport. On my way home from work I stopped at the gas station to fuel up and on the way into the station I went over a curb with my passenger side front and rear tires. There is no obvious cosmetic damage from what I can tell and and the tire pressure is holding steady. I turned the car off to fuel up and when I turned it back on to leave I noticed the check engine light was on however the onboard computer said all systems were ok. I took the car to autozone and used their code scanner. The code their scanner pulled was "P147E" with the sub note "EVAP System Leak Detection Module Circuit Low". Their fix says to replace said module. The problem I have is when I google that code it doesn't match up to that subnote. Not quite sure what to believe. Im trying to avoid taking it to the dealership as they charge a $140 diagnostic fee. Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I would either clear the code or drive it for a few days, multiple starts and stops, to see if it clears on it's own.

That's just me.

Yeah thats what Im hoping for. Can I clear the codes in the preignition menu or will I need to take it back to autozone and use their scanner again?

Also, apparently there is a NVLD extended warranty that goes to 120k, so if it is something more serious hopefully thats the culprit.

More likely to be related to fueling up than any curb issues.

Yeah thats what I was thinking but I tried some of the simple fixes with no effect. Like making sure the fuel cap is on tight and what not. The performance of the car feels unchanged so far. I reached out to the service advisor at my local dealership and of course I got the normal response "Oh we can't tell anything without running diagnostics which will be 165$". The thing I find the most aggravating is the lack of consistency of that code it threw. When I google it I get a myriad of answers as to what it is. I don't mind changing the parts if I know for certain thats actually the cause.

Have someone with a good scanner clear the code. Autozone or otherwise.

Tightening the fuel cap may fix the EVAP issue but will take time to register with the ECU. If the car is driving fine I'd give it some time. If it is a major issue you will for sure get many more errors.

*Update* Had my friend pull the codes with his Matco scanner and it gave the same code but no note, it also wouldn't let him clear it for some reason

When you filled up, did you notice that the rpm's hesitate after filling to a full tank?

if so, then you most likely have a faulty Fuel Tank Breather Vale ( also known as a vent valve)
This part equalizes the fuel pressure in the tank and makes sure there aren't any vapors escaping into the atmosphere.
