JB4 vs BMS Stage 1: Performance Difference

Okay, I know I'm going to sound like a broken record, but I searched and couldn't find anything about my specific question so I'm posting it now (hah).

I'm looking at either getting the BMS Stage 1 tune or JB4. For now, let's just say that is the only performance modification I plan on doing (for argument's sake).

The big question:

While I know Map 1 on JB4 and the Stage 1 tune theoretically run the same amount of boost increase, will the upgrade to JB4 make for smoother power delivery and increased performance? If so, why?

Thanks guys (and the occasional girl?), I appreciate your help!

Most likely cause I believe the JB4 will be able to monitor RPM while stage 1 just increase 3psi all around

I'd stick to the stg 1 if you only plan on using Map 1. Really not worth the extra money otherwise.

Stage 1 increases boos by 3.5 psi
Stage 2 Jb4 adds 4 psi + smoother delivery

Jb4 on map 1 makes .5 psi more than JB stage 1
It also offer smoother delivery

On a stock car, i would get a stage 1

Thanks for the follow-up! I mentioned tune-only for argument's sake as I may be getting a downpipe in the future but am undecided, so I wanted to see if there was a power difference between the two if you stayed tune-only.

So .5 PSI more and smoother delivery, is that due to the canbus interface? I've also heard that the power stays on stronger up top with JB4, if this true?

Smoother power delivery , yes due to canbus interface

BMS do not feel comfortable raising boost over 3,5 psi on stage 1 tune because the tune cannot monitor AFr,fuel,timing,etc...

I was on the same boat as you a few months back... Ultimately I decided on jb4, Id say if there's even a chance you might get a downpipe why not have the tune that would let you get the most out of your downpipe in the event you do?
