Painted Keyhole Cover

Forgive me if this has been asked. I did a search and could only find a 1 series discussion.

Did any of you buy painted keyhole covers? Looks like pic attached. Wondered your opinion. Mine is MW and don't see an option .

I bought mine from iND. It was a bit of a pain to get the old one out (might just be me) but overall, I like it.

I like the look, but I use the spot where the key goes with one finger to shut the door when the car is nice and clean lol. Only spot where I cant leave a smudge. Am I the only one??

I got one from iND. Had a very hard time trying to get the old one out. Was afraid of breaking something, so I gave up. Haven't gotten back to trying it again.

I thought I was the only one who did this. I also use my license plate to close the trunk

There is a hand- hold inside the trunk lid to close it without touching the car's exterior....

I have to show these to my friends in fiancee on every car when they close the trunk by putting their hands on the outside of it. Crazy how people don't know they have these. Though I have corrected my fiancee multiple times and she'll still use the outside...

It is almost impossible to close my trunk using these holds on the inside alone. Unless I give it a nice good yank. The trunk seems so light and wont close under its own weight. I use the grips to get it lower, then push on license plate the rest of the way lol.

I just politely ask the person I've tucked in there to pull the lid down gently if they know what's good for them.

Just takes practice to use the inner hand hold effectively, a quick flick with the wrist and it should close easily every time. Avoids dirty or wet hands in bad weather, besides not having to touch the paintwork.

I find my lid closes super easy with barely any force once it gets to a certain angle.

She is trying to tell you that you are being a dick about a very small issue.
Either she should look for a new fiancé or you should dial it back.
There are much larger things in a relationship to devote your energies to.
Me, I use the inside grab handle every time. I have no idea what my wife does.

She doesn't care too much, for the most part she'll just have me close it if we're in my car. And I don't make a big deal about it either, it's just a thing that's bothered me when there is a solution for it. I've exaggerated the issue on here to make a point as you said, it is relatively minor in the grand scheme of things, but when you create muscle memory and a pattern it is easily corrected.

And we have a good relationship, if she thinks I'm being a dick she'll tell me lol.

That's one way to look at it and here's another: Everything about my wife was perfect except for the way she used to close her trunk. Now she is without a flaw!!

This whole trunk-closing thing is getting to be quite Freudian. Perhaps you would like to like down on the couch and explore your feelings about your wife's trunk.
