Hey guys Just our of curiosity
What would you do if you were in my shoes? (I know another First world problem) I had Contis brand new on my 17" wheels and up graded to 18" wheels and purchased Michelin 4S 245 35 18 from Discount Tire locally and have been waiting for about a week for them to ship out of Texas, as they only stock AS 3, and the day has come (Today), and I went and got them installed and lo and behind they mounted the AS not the 4S while they have the 4S on the receipt!!!! (Update I was charged for 4S!!) What would you do if you were me That wasted a good half they say for me today and I am gonna a have to spend another half day tomorrow in this to be rectified!! I am livid! Any experience with those AS Michelins on this car I always had PSS and 3S after them

Did they charge u the A/S price or 4s price ?
PSS were my favorite, 4S are probably the best, A/S is a great all season and maybe more durable daily driver tire. If your cornering at 120mph + the 4S is probably the better choice. |

Don’t settle for the AS unless you
actually do want all season tires. Have them put on what you ordered and paid for with not a penny more for mounting and balancing the correct PS 4S tires. If you have to wait for them to get the right tires, don’t be afraid to drive the hell out of the AS 3 ones while they leave you waiting. |

I've had Pilot Sport A/S 3 and 3+, but on an E46 & E39 - great all-season tires, but they're not an Ultra-High Performance Sport tire.
You definitely need to be refunded the price difference - maybe they'll throw in free road hazard or rotating for life for your trouble/their mistake.

Simple:
1) Decide if I was willing to live with the A/S tires instead; if so, ask for the price difference to be refunded to me; or, 2) Ask them to put 4S tires on the car. Alternatively, you might find a better place to shop. For example, find a quality independent shop; and, consider using the Tire Rack to supply your tires.

Fact of life: Michelin tires are anything but inexpensive, regardless of the tire model.

Longer tread life Does well in cold climate (I drove them through 8" of snow with zero issues). I kept the MPSS on the Z4 but that car serves a different purpose...

The primary reason I have Pilot Super Sport instead of A/S 3+ is because people moan online about how noisy the 3+ gets as the tread wears.
The secondary reason is the PSS tires were more convenient at the time. I'm a bit weary to try this generation A/S tire. I may wait for the next gen.

Why settle? The 4S is superior. If you can't notice the grip difference of the MPSS and the A/S then you don't drive very hard. The 4S is superior to the MPSS. I've had both on my M235.
If you ordered and paid for the 4S, take it back and have them fix it. Period. |

Are y'all crazy? This isn't that hard. Go back to the shop and ask to speak to the manager. Explain what happened and tell him or her that you understand mistakes happen but you need them to fix the issue and install the tires you ordered and paid for. They'll do it.

Had the same thing happen almost at BMW of Columbia. Had MPSS which wore like crap on the front and made my dealer order 4S when they first came out. Dealer had to get a quote because at that time they didn’t yet stock them. Dealer said they arrived, took the car in and went to pick it up, took a quick look before jumping in and they put MPSS on it. Needless to say I was pissed because I had gone back and forth with them prior to make sure they got the quote and right load rating. Service manager got an earfull and they ordered 4S and replaced the MPSS that I didn’t order. Had the AS3+ on our X1 and they are good tires especially if you drive in freezing temps but handling is much different from 4S and not as sporting.

I had A/S 3+ on my M235i. I liked them and they performed well below 40 degrees. I would ask for the difference and some more as a bonus for them not fixing their mistake.
The A/S 3+ will definitely last longer than PS4s would. |

I did and they righted the wrong by issuing a 277$ in refund between the two sets
I actually got the AS 3+ 245/35/18 all 4 for 680$ installed with tax, and I think that's not bad
