How to connect audio so airplay works both audio and video
Awesome write up. Thanks a lot. Will definitely help as I attempt installing in my F30 tomorrow.
One question though I couldn't get the answer to from the videos. How did you connect the audio so that you can both wireless airplay video and audio from the iPhone?

On one of the main harnesses that come with the bimmertech unit there is an AUDIO-IN cable. It is yellow. This is where you connect the audio out from the wireless airplay unit to. You can see it in my video when I am showing all the components.

thanks ConfigT , I guessed so but I saw some confusing posts that you would need to Connect the Wifi Box via a Hidden cable to the AUX in that is in the arm rest.
I believe connecting the Audio in from the Bimmertech Harness to the Wireless Airplay unit is much more elegant solution.

I have connected my source to input 2 (both video and L/R audio). I am able to get video without a problem on the screen, but I get no audio through the radio. If I connect the L/R audio OUTPUT (the set you describe as having 2 yellow connectors) from the bimmer-tech unit to the aux in (in the armrest), it works fine. I assume I am just doing something wrong here? I am kinda unclear where exactly you think I should put the audio cables? |

Once its being mirrored it looks amazing, but none of the online demos show actually getting into the mirrored mode, they all pick up after its already there. |

One question. To hear audio from the mircacast, do you use the AUX input for the radio to get the audio into the radio, or is it being fed directly into the radio from the Bimmer-tech unit into the radio?
