And everything was going great until...
4 days after delivery took my first nail ever. Tire never went flat drove at least 60 miles after discovery. Can't be fixed. Dealer nice enough to pay for mount and balance. Luckily my winters were delivered the same day so don't really need it until April !

I have gotten two nails so far. One was fixable, one was not. With the M mobility kit I was able to get to Discount Tires both times.

I blew out my rear tire after about 5 months of ownerships. Still not sure what caused it, there was no debris or anything where it blew, couldn't find anything in it. There was like a 2-3inch tear on the tire.

Me too.....600 miles. First time I've kicked myself for not buying the wheel/tire protection. I had to wait a day too. Tire not in stock.

I've lost 2 tires to nails in the sidewall. Just a series of unfortunate events I guess.

just got my second screw in the treads. Something about those rear wheels seems to pick them up :/ Fortunately, tires did not deflate either time

- Three days after delivery ... - Two days after I had my wheels powdercoated ... - On my birthday ... - Which was on a Sunday. Caught the tire with 15PSI in it, which was just barely enough for me to get NTB -- the only decent place open on a Sunday -- to agree to repair it. Been fine ever since!

That's why I always try to purchase my tires on tirerack for free road hazard protection.
I got two nails in the same tire already... both were repairable. Dealer charged me $90. Independent on the 2nd nail charged me $35. |

Wasn't from a nail, but I had a tire rupture and fail within 30 minutes of taking delivery of my car. Towed it right back to the dealership, but of course it was a Friday and they didn't have any spares. They then very kindly pulled a tire off another new M235i in their lot so that I wouldn't have to wait all weekend to get my new ride back on the road.

Good grief! I haven't had a flat yet in my M235i. I'm getting paranoid now!
Knock on wood. Knock on wood. Knock on wood. Truth be told, last week I had a flat on my VW Touareg. The 20" Continentals had about 8000 miles on them. But that was enough wear that, due to the AWD sensitivity, I had to replace all four. $1500. Ouch.

Guys just FYI for anyone who did not get the wheel and tire insurance through BMW. I didn't because I think it's way overpriced. Anyway I stopped at my local tire shop for something else and they gave me insurance on all 4 tires (obvs not purchased through them) for $20 per tire. Place is called CJs but if they're not in your area probably someone who has a similar program if you call around. I had no idea this kind of program even existed until they were nice enough to tell me. Anyway 3 no hassle replacement tires later I would NEVER skip spending $80 with them every time I get a new car.

I have actually used it twice now, the nice thing was I had a flat, it was a nail in the sidewall, they replaced that tire, and I got a discounted PSS for the second one because it was still in decent condition. I think I paid like 130 for the second tire. So overall not too bad. Definitely better than paying out of pocket. I think there was about 8k miles on the tires at the time I got the flat, so I figured it was enough of a discrepancy to just replace it anyways.

Not sure if this would help anyone out there, but I stopped getting nails or sharp objects onto my tires after not driving into any corners too deep (especially those on/off ramp exits on freeways).
There are a lot of debris in those **** without much cars driving on them, thus the debris in those ****. Stay in the lane and stop saving those 1/10th of a sec |
