READ IMPORTANT NOTES:

1) NEVER click "Code Default Values" it can reset important stuff and car might not start and need to get towed to the dealer to fix the software
2) Make sure you click "Code FDL" and not "Code" (clicking code will reset the car to the factory setting erasing all the FDL coding for the selected ECU)
3) Always code with the car running or with a commercial grade charger connected to it, else voltage might drop during coding and you could get unexpected errors. (if you are codding the DME ECU you can't have the car running so you will need a charger)
4) Launcher note: E-Sys Launcher Car Series MUST be set to exactly match the car's chassis type you are coding (e.g. F01, F06, F07, F10, F12, F15, F25, F30, F82, F83, etc.). If after install it defaults to F999 and it cannot be changed, change PC Date ahead 4 days, then change E-Sys Launcher Car Series, then change PC Date back to current date. DO NOT create .EST Token and PIN with PC Date advanced 4 days as the Validity Start Date for the token will be 4 days in the future."

Now you can just tick the checkboxes with the codes you want and they are applied automatically

How to VO code

Connect => Read FA => Activate FA => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on ECU you want to code i.e. HU_NBT (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

Step by step VO code guide sample for TPMS decoding Attachment 1358569

Corrupted CAFD

Just inject new CAFD into ECU, and VO Code it.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on desired ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from latest I-Level shown => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

Read I-Level
To determine your I-Level, go to VCM Module => VCM Master Tab => click Read under I-Steps

Hi pikcachu

I don't have a battery charger so how can i make sure I avoid the DME ECU as I will need to do all my coding when the car is running?

Thanks

You can code whole car with motor running, except DME.

I really doubt you will need to code anything on DME

I have got a 2020 F23 with LED headlight (non-adaptive), just wondering if I can code the VLD with it.

Also any chance I can lower the speed to activate LDW?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the lights have to move for VLD. It's more than just leveling. Was it decoded from your car? Look up your VIN to check.

F22 coding cheat sheet

What I meant, was go here and look up your VIN: https://www.mdecoder.com

And look for S5AP and S8S4. Those are the two decode codes for these features.

pikcachu I am a newbie to coding, is it possible for you to share what i can do with this software? it seems there is alot of coding can be done through this, but i also don't want to mess around with things i don't know .
So, can you please share a list of common things i would benefit from using this software.

Coding cruise control

I have an 2019 M240 fitted cruise button and attempted to code using genuine ISTA software which I have access to through my garage. Coding failed, when I press cruise button It comes up saying cruise ready but when I try to set speed it faults.

Is it worth trying coding with Esys, if so where where do I start 👀😂.

Thanks

Idrive is stuck in a reboot loop. I have ista+ over ethernet and can connect successfully. I can pull faults from HU but the reboot loop ~30s is causing issues. Im brand new to ista and but have tech background. Looking for a little guidance. Am i able to update software and code in ista over ethernet or do I need an ICOAm cable? Really appreciate any help.

The LED interior roof lights are annoying me. In the evenings /at night they dim down but have some serious PWM flicker. A while ago a saw a code somewhere but cannot find it again. There are two variables for normal and dim brightness and it should even be possible with carly to code.
Does someone remember how those two entries are called and where to find?

On daytime or when switching on with the button the dome lights have full brightness and do not flicker.

Another question: In a Carly manual I read about an option that when unlocking the car twice, the driver side window lowers when you open the door. Where can this be coded?
I found that someone coded this in Carly:
Helligkeit Innenbeleuchtung – Aufsperren => sehr hell (FEM)
Welcome Lights – interior lightning => sehr hell (FEM)

This should prevent the interior lights to be PWM dimmed if one opens the door at night.
However I could not figure out the FEM variables for "Aufsperren" with regular coding.
Any ideas?

Hey Folks,

New owner here, I've had a good google and a look on YouTube but I can't seem to find a straight answer for my coding question;
I'm looking to enable Speed Limit information in my cluster as it's the only feature I seem to be missing.

I've got a KAFAS camera in my 2020 M240i but I'm new to all this so I'm not sure what's actually involved in enabling the feature.
There's a bunch of guides about installing a module if you don't have a KAFAS, but as I have one I have absolutely no idea what to do

Any help for a noob would be massively appreciated

I believe the my 2021 M240 gets the speed limit from the camera as it misses some that the GPS would know. Trees, passing traffic, etc.

Indeed. GPS is irrelevant. They moved a sign here, passed the sign and speed changed. It doesn't recognize 'school zone' though.

So quite often I'm doing 45 as there's no kids around, but my display says 25.

On my F23 vert the alarm chirps on lock - unless you forget to shut off the engine - then the horn honks on lock.

Exactly, sometimes I need to lock when engine runs (either to heat or cool). And then the horn honks. Just want to disable that.
