For a custom suspension setup, I wouldn't worry about loading, as it is beyond the BMW specs anyway, I would just be monitoring tyre wear for overall evenness. In my Caterham setup I do use just ballast in just the drivers seat to reflect my weight for suspension adjustment, as the car is so light the ballast has a significant affect on getting a perfect corner weighted suspension setup.
Thanks for the data point – much appreciated!

Your suggestion to not worry about loading is consistent with what I'd assumed, although without specific knowledge to support that assumption.

When setting-up my cars, I've instructed my shops to place my body weight in the car as follows: 15# where the heel of each foot rests (#s arrived at via testing), and 140# in the driver's chair. This is for this 170# driver.

The build and alignment were done by TC Kline at his shop in Hilliard, Ohio. I asked him what I could expect in the way of tire wear on the OEM staggered MPSS, and his answer was to expect 8-10K miles from the tires. At 5.8K, the front insides had tread depths of 6.75-7.00/32nds and the rears 7.00-7.50/32nds. They've got 9.4K on them now, and IIRC they're around 6-6.5/32nds.

Despite camber of -2.6° front and -2.2° rear, compared to TC's estimate I don't appear to be exercising the car especially vigorously. That's consistent with how I drive the car on the street.

Given the negative camber, front and rear relative inside tire wear is less pronounced than I'd expected, with the inside tread depth vs. outside tread depth difference averaging less than 0.50/32nds in both the front and the rear.

If I were to summarize this, I'd suggest that cambers of -2.6° front and -2.2° rear are a useful starting point for an owner looking for increased steering responsiveness and grip through corners with still-acceptable tire life from a Max Performance Summer tire. "Acceptable" in this context means ~10K miles, with anything more being gravy.
