Options and prices for run flats with 725 style wheel

Hi. So the 2018 230i I just purchased (literally just purchased, 3 hours ago) needs new tires. Car is on the 17" 725 wheel, as https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-2-SERIE...-/382910708907 . I'd like to get run flats. I am in California.

In stock 205/50-17 size, I was considering the Pirelli P7. But I noticed that the Pirelli P7 RFT W (not the All-Season) is cheaper as a wider tire.
$165 as a 205/50-17
$136 as a 225/45-17
There just seem to be more options and better prices in 225/45-17. The Yokohama AVID ENVIGOR ZPS All Season RFT was available in that size for $167.

Does anyone have experience running a 225/45-17 tire on the 725 wheel? Work okay or any issues?

Thanks.

The 225/45-17 tyres will work well on the 725 wheel that is 7.5” wide, they are specified for use on 7” to 8.5” wide wheels. There should be no problem with the ET43 offset that the 725 wheel has, either. The ContiSportContact 5 SSR is also available as a summer tyre at a reasonable price ($133 at Tirerack) in 225/45-17, it is in the Max Performance Summer tyre category, if you want the grippiest run flat vs ride or tread wear.

Just curious. Why would you want run flats? Has anybody put a run flat to the test and ran a flat without chowdering your wheels? For me the performance is so bad I'll run a better tire and call a flat bed if I flat.
