Purchase: M235i is on the truck headed west-Thank you all for helping
Looks like it's finally a done deal. I finalized a purchase for a 2014 M235i and it's on the truck headed from North Carolina to WA state/Seattle.
I've posted some pretty random questions on this forum and really appreciate all the helpful responses. Example posts: Should I buy a car sight unseen? I'm considering a Chevy SS or an M235i? I can't find a 6MT car? How would this compare to my E46 M3?? So again, thanks to this forum I have a car in route to the west coast where I live. Cheers. Specifics: 2014 M235i
Attached is a pic of it after loading onto the truck for shipping (taken by dealer). I'll attach more pics when it arrives. The dealer took my 2004 M3 in on trade (I was going to sell it locally). That 'saved me' $1250 in sales tax. Waiting is the hardest part. Lol!

It had 97K miles and I would say good to very good condition. However I had curb rash and the driver seat was pretty worn 6MT car with most options (Nav, 19's etc). I was looking for $14.5K. I got $13K trade value but like I said I saved $1,250 in sales tax (our rate in SEA is 9.6%). I realize on the open market with a good detail and cosmetic repairs it could have brought in ~ $16.5K in my region. A local dealer here low balled me six months ago and said it was worth 10K and needed 2K or repairs so offered 8K. I walked on that one. Cheers.

Congratulations. Hope you enjoy your new 2.
With it still being under warranty and full maintenance you should have no worries. |

For sure. It's been so long since I've had a car with a warranty I won't know what to do : ) Then the free maintenance will be sweet. I suppose that means a few oil changes?? if things go well. Better than a poke in the eye. Cheers.

Free maintenance does not pass down from the original owner, however the warranty does pass down. Unless you got some exception, my understanding was that is how it works with BMW CPO cars.

Officially this is only true on 2015+ model years. However, either I just got lucky, or it isn't really enforced. I called BMW USA after purchasing my used 2015 and they transferred both the warranty and maintenance coverage to me. YMMV obviously.

Darn, sorry to hear. I think it's a terrible decision on their part to change this policy, and don't really get the reasoning.

Congrats Supernova! You'll love that red interior, and the whole car for that matter. I'm still pinching myself in disbelief almost 6 months later. Such a nice car.

Having said that the test drive led me to pull the trigger on this car. I'm sort of "carless" right now. E46 M3 is on it's way to NC. Driving the family 1985 GMC S-15 P/U. It's been a life saver. Cheers.
