Peter is correct. ET 45 9.5 rear is aggressive even with 255. That is my street setup. 43 is a poke with 265s. My 255s on 9.5 at 45 is at the very edge.

ET45, perfect? No.
I have ET58 - 5MM spacer (ET53), with 265/35 Michelin A/S3+ and I think that pokes a little.
You'd have to have a high poke tolerance for 9.5 ET45.
Oh alright, thanks for confirming that for me. I might just go ET58 to be on the safe side.

Are you rubbing at all? Would probably be possible with about 2° camber you think?

No rubbing. My rear offset and 255 tires are known to be a safe fitment. To run 265s you will need to be in the 53 offset range.

Got some Apex EC-7s yesterday, digging this new setup

18x8.5 ET45 with 5mm spacer, 235/40/18
18x9.5 ET58 with 5mm spacer, 265/35/18

Tires are Bridgestone S04 Pole Positions, they seem to run wide but the 5mm spacer gives me just enough room to clear the shocks

This guy is running 19x9.5 ET43 in the rear. The angles of these photos make it tough to see, but it will definitely poke as others have pointed out and may rub under suspension compression especially with wider tires.

This is correct, we generally recommend a 5mm spacer in the rear with our 18x9.5 ET58 to get to the 53mm effective offset that the 265s require.

I wasn't planning on running 265, original plan was to run 255. Didn't even think of 245, a slight more stretch for clearance and possible negative camber might be an option? If you're running ET43 on 255, it's doable then right, just a poke of around 7mm from my calculations.

On one of his post he said no camber, no spacers, no rubbing and just a slight poke. So seems doable. He's on M Performance Springs, I'm on Dinan Springs. Also, I wasn't planning on running wider tires, I was aiming for 255.

I guess my main goal is to try and avoid using a 5mm spacers. If I can add a little negative camber and maybe stretch the tires more (245?if that's even advisable) to fix the tiny poke, I'm willing to do it if it's a slightly more aggressive and dialed in fitment.

Forgot to mention, I plan on tracking this car so I would end up with around -2.25° negative in the rear, which I believe should clear roughly 8mm or so. Therefore, the more aggressive ET43 should not really be poking at that point based off how I calculates everything and imagine it would be.

We seem to never have enough 2 series content. Lets see your photos with APEX wheels if you have them!

I found some old pics from one of our customers from back in 2015. His F22 was on a staggered set of APEX EC-7 wheels in Race Silver finish.

APEX Wheel Fitment Specs:
  • Front: 18x8.5" ET45 EC-7 in Hyper Silver with 235/40-18 Michelin PSS
  • Rear: 18x9.5" ET58 EC-7 in Hyper Silver with 265/35-18 Michelin PSS

The Fully Forged APEX ARC-8R and EC-7R feature a profile 2 medium concave design in all sizes. This allows even the F2x chassis to have some concavity despite the high offset requirements.

APEX Wheel Fitment Specs:
  • Front/Rear: 18x8.5" ET35 with 235/40-18 Michelin PS4S tires
  • Additional Modifications: Lowering springs

Do all these 18x8.5" ET35 with 235/40-18 Michelin PS4S setups you keep posting need spacers in the front for suspension clearance? If they do, why do you just have ET35 and ET45 instead of an ET40 wheel?

Thanks for the question! None of the 18x8.5 ET35 setups need spacers. Our 18x8.5 ET45 wheels do require 3-5mm spacers up front, but they allow you to run wider front tires without modifying your alignment compared to the 18x8.5 ET35s.

We produce a large number of 18x8.5 ET35 wheels for other BMW chassis as this is a very versatile width and offset combination that works as either a front fitment or square fitment on other non-M cars. 18x8.5 ET45 was developed specifically for the high offset requirements of the 1 series chassis and is really only used on the 1 and 2 series. Its offset is slightly higher than ideal for the 2 series front fitment but can be compensated for with a spacer and is ideal for the rear fitment of the 2 series. There isn't enough demand for a 3rd 18x8.5 ET40 wheel that would slot between these 2 wheels specifically for the 2 series market front fitment.

Not my first bimmer but my first to wear Apex-es
FL-5 18x8.5 ET35 square wrapped in 235/45 MPS4S.

I am running Dinan springs and the fronts rub the fender lip just slightly under rapid compression, but it occurs so infrequently it's no biggie for me.

Looks GREAT!

What camber are you running and do you like the Millway Streets? I am thinking B16 and the Millway as a combo.

Anyway, great looking ride. Looks like are in the same area code as well...

Thanks! Millway Streets have minimal NVH, no problems with them at all! -2.5 front and -2 rear, love it so far on the street.

And yeah, I'm in Dublin. Don't drive it much though, just random trips on the weekends and whatnot.

@Expert@ApexRaceParts would you guys ever be interested in developing an aerodisc like product that could be fitted to some of your existing wheels?
