Garage List
Got my wheels on just in time for this thread existing

Apex ARC-8 in Satin Black on M235i xDrive
  • 18x8.5ET45 225/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3+up front
  • 18x9.5ET58 255/35/18 in the rear

Very happy so far. The ARC-8 wheels in these offsets definitely look much more concave with these high offsets in person than they do in pictures if anyone is swayed by that. Wheels fit with no issue and fitment is perfect in my opinion. Wheels do not poke out at all with these offsets and sit flush with the fender. Car has no modification.

Nice. I went back and forth between the ARC-8 and EC-7 and ended up ordering the EC-7's in satin black. The ARC-8's are a bit lighter. Can't go wrong with either!

So I took my EC-7's to get the OEM tires swapped over and installed on the car and the shop tells me I need 10mm spacers up front because they're hitting the shock. They showed me as well. Awesome. A wasted day, a $65 lift fee, now I need spacers which will make the wheels poke. I could have just bought 18x8.5 et 35 VMR V710's for $800 in a square setup for the same god damned look/fitment. ESC shows these as fitting on their website, the rep on the phone said the same (he's just regurgitating) and the Apex rep on here said they'd be fine. They're not.

So this isn't my 235 but I just had some ARC8 installed on our 35k mile ZHP E46. Huge upgrade over stock and the wheels are spectacular. Will be ordering a set for the 235 when I am due for tires. These are 17" (OEM -1) due to crap roads near us, wrapped in AS3+.

Tremendous wheel and great value, couldn't be happier.

Wow that is such an incredibly mint E46. The ARC-8 wheels suit the car very well We appreciate the post and the kind words.

My car camber is -2.7 front; between -1.8 and -2.2 rear (still dialing it in). The car is lowered by approx. 0.5"-0.75".

Would an Arc-8 18x9 ET42 in a square fitment work without spacers up front or hitting the fenders in the rear?

What is the maximum size wheel/tire that will fit on the car in a square fitment with my camber specs?

We recently sponsored the Dasboot Motorsports (Bimmerspeed/JCD Racing) team at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill race this year in their M235iR race car. They run a square setup of our 18" EC-7 wheels and placed 2nd in the E0 class.

How about mismatched wheels? Here's one under compression (T5 at Laguna) from last weekend. Almost looks like there's enough space for one size up in the front.

F: SM-10 black 18x8.5 ET35, 245/40R18 RE71-r, -3 deg camber
R: some forgestar 18x9 ET50ish, 265/35R18 RE71-r, -2.2 deg camber (and a 3mm spacer for the corckscrew)
KW V3, ride height about 1" lower than stock

TC Kline Suspension Kit (includes camber plates)
Spring Rates: 350 F & 600 R
Camber: -1.9° F & -1.6° R
Toe: 1/32" IN F & 1/8" IN R
Corner Weight: 50.1%
Fender Roll (slight): F & R
Ride Height Drop: 1¼" F & 1" R

Wheels: Apex ARC-8 - 18X9½ ET58 R & 17X9 ET42 F
Tires: Toyo R888R - 255/35-18 R & 255/40-17 F
Spacers: 5MM R
Studs: 60MM 14X1.5
Nuts: 17MM

Edit: Later, I had my alignment checked on a Hunter HawkEye Elite® Alignment Machine.

The builder told me that he'd set the camber to -1.9° F & -1.6° R, while the HawkEye Elite® showed the car as having camber of -2.6° F & -2.2° R. I wasn't surprised, as the car drives like it has the greater negative camber.

Thanks for the post! That setup will require 3mm or 5mm front spacers to clear the stock suspension. We recommend the 18x8.5" ET35 or ET38 for a spacer-free fitment up front with 225/40-18 tires. 235/40-18 can also work, but may need a bit of negative camber to prevent rubbing.

Yes! All of our wheels are available in a glossy gunmetal finish we call Anthracite.
Yes! OEM BMW caps will snap right into our wheels.
Pricing varies based on design, size, and any sales that are going on. We recommend checking our website for the latest pricing at any given time: www.apexraceparts.com.

Do you have a fitment recommendation for 17’s on the F22 similar to what’s in your E8X fitment guide? Or are 17” wheels completely unsupported by your company with the F22 at this time?

I’m looking at the 17” ARC-8 group-buy and wondering what it would take to get a square 17x8.5et40 or 17x9et42 under an F22, especially with 255/40R17 track tires for AutoX and HPDE. Additional info: I’ll be adding camber plates mated to KW V2’s this spring, and don’t mind getting the fenders rolled (but not pulled) to make things fit.
