M235i with Enkei Victory 18x8 ET40 square

These are new for 2020, they look like the stock wheels but lighter and wider, using stock 225 tires until they wear out.

Those are great. I would kill those super "narrow for a 225 width" P7s with fire and get a set of 245/35 MP4S tires ASAP. It will make the wheels and car look even better. As the handling, light years better.

Yeah I can't wait until they wear out, I may just run 235, it's xdrive so traction isn't an issue and I want to stay as light as possible. 245 would look much better though. Also, why 35 instead of 40? Does 35 retain stock wheel height?

245/35R18 is the stock staggered rear tire spec. With the 18X8 with 40et offset you should be able to run 245/35s at all four corners. Running a 245 upfront gives you a ton more front axle grip and reduces much of the 2 series tendency to understeer ,especially in AWD models. It also reduces outer shoulder wear, at least if you go MP4S since they are "XL" tires and they have much stiffer sidewalls than the BMW "star" spec tires which have soft shoulders. I'm running a square 245/35R18 MP4S setup with my 18X8et43 wheels, stock springs and suspension in the front and Dinan springs with lift spacers in the rear. No wheel spacers needed or clearance issues.

A 245/35R18 MP4S vs a 225/40R18 P7 is massive in terms of width. The 245/35 MP4S is 9.8" in overall width and the contact patch is 8.4" wide. A 225/40R18 P7 has a 9.1" overall width and has a super narrow 6.0" contact patch. That's huge. The P7s really curve in inwards. They're all about MPG with that narrow contact patch which kills lateral grip and braking ability.

As for 235/40R18 tires, they'll work but they are taller than the stock tires. They'll make the wheels like fractionally smaller as well. A 245/35R18 is marginally wider than a 235/40R18.

Sorry to bump this one, but looking at these wheels also. I want to run MP4S, but thought anything wider than 235 on 8" was too wide/stretched?

wheels look great, but nobody lists them as available for the m235...only base 2 series due to "brake clearance". No spacers, stock ride height too correct?

I had 225 front 245 rear Michelin Summer tires on square 18X8 et 35 and they looked great.

The rim width range for a 245/35 tire is 8-9.5". You can see tire specification data like this on the Tire Rack site.

"Stretched" is when the tire's tread width is narrower than the wheel's width. For example, an 8" wheel with a tire having a 7" or a 7.5" tread width.

How did you guys running the Enkei Victory wheels get the BMW center caps on the aftermarket wheels? Were they a direct fit pulled from the factory wheels or did you have to mod? Enkei, for some reason, tells me 10mm spacers are required for the wheels to fit the front brakes. I wonder why that is. Maybe the sport brake selection when ordering is throwing them off.... I'm telling them there is no issue based on the two real world scenarios above. Thanks for the needed info!
