I tought I should share my positive experience with VMR Wheels Europe and so far amazing feedback of driving on V703s.

First of all, I ordered a set of 18" V703s in March.
I was really thinking between Black and Gunmetal, but since they don't have it in Glossy Black but only in Matte, I decided for Gunmetal, and I'm really happy I did. I saw some photos of Mineral Grey F22 with Gunmetal V703s and fell in love immediately. It is a perfect combo. It should have came from factory with such wheels. 😁

Anyway, the wheels came really quickly, in 2-3 days and during the weekend I applied ceramic coating, which is btw. holding really well and makes cleaning a lot easier.
On Monday I went to mount them on car and the tire shop technician noticed that one wheel is bent and it was really noticeable. Wheel was bouncing really crazy on the balancing machine.
I informed VMR Wheels Europe about it and they sent a new wheel immediately.
The new wheel came intact so I guess it was bent during the transport because the box was slightly damaged.
So their customer service is superb.

As for the wheels, I'm driving them a bit more than a month and I have to say they transformed a car totally. Because they're much wider than stock rims, there's definitely more grip but since I went for the 18" it's still comfortable as stock, maybe even a bit more comfortable, if that's possible.
And I really don't have to talk about the look, well here are some photos I took recently, so..

Oh, and everything is stock on my car and they fit perfectly.
Wheels are F: 18x8.5J ET40 with 225/40/18 and R: 18x9.5J ET45 with 245/35/18, tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. There is a slight poke in the rear, but just a few mm, and I had my fenders pulled to cover it and it's now unnoticeable.

Nice!

I think it was smart of you to choose wide wheels to go with the BMW spec-sized tires. That puts more tread width on the pavement, giving you a more responsive and better handling car.

It also looks good, both fitment-wise and the Gunmetal wheel color with your car's Mineral Gray paint.

Thanks man. Yep, I wanted to keep the stock sized tires because a yearly MOT tests are rigorous here and for a normal street driving, that's more than enough of tyre.

As for the color, Gunmetal is really a close match to the MG, only a bit lighter, and I love when wheels and car colors match.

So I've spent the last hour scrolling and I'm still confused lol I'm a new bmw owner so bare with me, I just bought a 2020 m240i xdrive in grey. I want a summer setup with 19inch wheels. A more wider look than the 225 tires the car has stock. Preferably the lowest a 35 series as a 30 series would suck for me living in chicago. Any recommendations ? Wheels I would want is a concave look. Idc if it's a staggered set up or if possible squared, just wider than 225/235. Sorry for being a noob. Car is stock by the way and I don't track. Just a spirited driver.

Exclamation 2018 BMW M240i xDrive

When i was searching for information on a staggered setup for my 2series xdrive, it was hard to come by. So, i felt like sharing my findings.

1. You can safely run a 265/30/19 in the rear and 225/35/19 in the front. After install i can personally verify there is no rubbing at all.
- VMR was hesitant to let me go against there recommendation of a 255 rear which would have looked thin.
https://tiresize.com/comparison/

2. The 265 / 225 set up has a 0.4% diameter difference instead of the 1.2% difference between the 255 / 225. I'm very content with the results. I didn't roll the fenders or change the suspension at all. That is all completely stock.

3. The added grip in the back running Pilot 4s tires is amazing.
- The car feels faster since it doesn't have to kick in the front drive.
- The car doesn't feel sketchy anymore.
- On the 225 square setup it always felt like the car was at the edge of it's capabilities.

I'm running 19" VMR V802 in Crystal Black with Michelin Pilot 4S and they are gorgeous wheels. I highly recommend this set up.

Other things I've done: Racechip GTS / Injen CAI. Which makes for a lively ride even without the intake (which i cant tell the difference with the intake). May get an exhaust this year.

Thanks for letting us know about the validity of this setup. I wonder if there is any difference with your awd vs a rwd. Where are the pics? Don't tease us like that. Lol

There is a significant difference with the xDrive suspension vs the non-xDrive. The max tire for the xDrive that my mechanic recommended in the front is 225, i had a shop measure for a 235, but they said it wouldn't fit. For regular driving there's plenty of grip all the way around. if i was to race this car, then i'd modify the fenders and go wider outward.

It decided to snow today, but i did manage to take a couple of pics on my way to my car.

FWIW, the section widths for the 4S in those sizes are different than the calculator shows. They're 9.1" and 10.7"; the 235 is 9.5".

How do those who went with a 19" VMR feel about the cars handling and acceleration characteristics bcompared to the stock 18" wheels?

I was going to go with a square setup (v802 or v710) but do many ppl seem to be staggered so that's another factor I need to decide on. It was hard enough to get my choice down to these two wheels haha

Thumbs up

I'd recommend going staggered with the 265/225 setup, acceleration is better than squared setup. It has more grip. I'd recommend chipping the car, it unlocks more potential whether you go with a racechip or the other one, i forget the name. if you're shooting for radically modifying your car there are 500hp options out there but require quite a bit of money to complete.
To add, if your state has shit roads, then i'd recommend the 18" i already slightly laterally tweaked one of the rims on a pothole at 80+ and had to get it rolled out. I was shocked when my shop put it on the roadmaster balancer and showed me the bend in the rim. Reminded me of my bicycle tires when i was a kid... 5 curse words later and a hundred bucks i got it bent back at a rim shop.

I'm probably going to go with a staggered 19" setup. Thanks for the input. Does anyone know if the VMR rep on here is still active or should I just be reaching out via the website?

To further answer your question Don about the handling, the more i get used to the car (i've only owned it for about 3 months / warmer weather), the more i'm pushing it trying to find the slip points, and finding out that the handling is amazing on 19's with the pilot 4s; a world of difference than it was.

Wanted to put up some pictures of my own as I just threw on my V803's. Been looking for these for a while but they were backordered. Luckily a 1 series owner I knew was selling the whole set for $600 in the color I wanted (hyper silver). Had to use some spacers to get fitment right as the specs were intended for a 1 series but it came out great.

19x8.5 +45 (Front) w/ 10mm Spacer +35
19x9.5 +57 (Rear) w/ 12mm Spacer +45
Dinan Lowering Springs (0.5" Front / 1" Rear)
Yokohama Advan Apex V601
225/35r19 (Front) / 255/35r19 (Rear)
No Rubbing at all

Hi there! After reading all this thread I see that the perfect configuration for 18 is
(F) 18x8.5 ET35
(R) 18x9.5 ET45

The wheels I wish to have (not VMR) have only 8x9.5 ET38 for rear.
Is that a huge problem to put 18x9.5 ET38 instead of ET48 for rear?
Hot it will affect to the car?
