Clock Auto Update when Crossing Time Zones?!?

Ok the first time I did it I did not have "Time Auto Set" checked in the iDrive, so Me Bad. Next time (ha ha) I had "Time Auto Set" selected, crossed the time zone (I live on the eastern edge of the central time zone), stopped for lunch with friends, used the APP to check on the car's status and got an update on the fuel and miles remaining so I know it reached out to a cell tower. Still no change in the car's clock. Anyone else run into this? By the way I have NAV as well and the route across the time zone had a destination that was off an hour. My 2018 Pacifica, which does NOT have NAV, but does change the car's clock within minutes of crossing the time zone. Come on BMW.

UPDATE

Well once again crossed the time zone and no "Auto-Update". Did some digging and found that the system uses online time from your home zip code to update the clock during auto update. To remedy this you have to change the default from online to NAV for the basis of time on the update.

Went into Bimmercode to Headunit, then expert mode and selected 3000 HMI.
Then selected SETTINGS_TIME_AUTOMATIC

It was set to online (0x01) so I selected navigation (0x02) and hit save, then code.

Tested it by deselection auto time setting on the iDrive and changed it to one hour ahead and then hit Auto adjust and it corrected the hour. Before it would not, but it would correct the minutes. Now it uses the Nav for the time source.

Hope this helps someone down the road.
Of course if you don't have NAV I guess you are stuck.
