Do I need OEM TPMS sensors ?

I'm getting a spare set of rims, -TPMS OEM of another 2'er

1> do I need OEM TPMS
2> do they need coding
3> is there a big price between AM and OEM
4> is there a big difference between quality, reliability
5> Can I run without TPMS (just for winter) can I code it out using bimmercode

I'm currently running without TPMS on my summer tires. You can code it out but you have to disconnect the module in the rear passenger side of the car.

I looked at the pictures, and it looks like he left the valve stems on, not sure if they are the TPMS, I check it out when I get there

I purchased some from tire rack. They were not advertised as OEM, but they showed up with the bmw logo on them. $40 each.

Last month I bought a set of OEM Huf Intellisense sensors from here;

https://www.tpmsbargains.com/BMW-2-S...PMS-s/1134.htm

They were (and look to still be) on sale, so came to a bit over $200 CAD all-in with shipping and exchange for the set. And they work perfectly.

Shouldn't be any issue, just set the correct tyre pressures after the wheels have been swapped, go to iDrive and reset the tyre pressure monitoring system, then drive for a few km until the readings update.

I had to drive for probably half an hour for my car to fully recognize my new sensors, but they do work fine in the end. A quick trip around the block probably won't do.

every time I've had my tires swapped on the same rims (then do a relearn) it takes about 10 mints of driving at about 20 clicks,

Before I hit the highway it comes up ok, it does a % counting does it quite quickly

but that is with the BMW sensors, not the AM I'm going to get
