M235i Full Splitter Now Installed, See Last Post 11/28/15

My M235i full Splitter is on it's way from eAs, https://europeanautosource.com/light...-2-series.html .
I like this better than BMW's splitter because, it is fully under the bumper cover, and not covering up a large part of lower outside vent openings.
It doesn't use a ton of 3M tape to hold it in place. Very easy to bolt on and off. Only lowers the car 1/4" from stock.
And "No" I will not put on the Makers "Lightweight" sticker.

Tell what you think, BMW's vs. The Lightweight Splitter?

Pictures to come soon.

Like his better, especially if you were going to paint the splitter body cover and leave the lip black

If I paint the splitter (upper section) the color of the car and leave the bottom black, that accomplishes the same thing as Just putting on the lightweight splitter alone does.
BMW's full splitter covers the upper section exactly the same as it is.
That's were all the 3M tape goes.

Light Weight is much nicer. I am biased though.

I like the Lightweight one better also because of how you retain the color on the OEM part of the front end. I want to see LOTS of pics when you get yours! Maybe even a couple pics detailing the installation process.

I did the BMW lip this way, was my personal favorite of all the options/color combos. Left the splitters matte black but did the lip in EBII. I think it gives the car a nice fluid and aggressive look on the front, with a nice piece of contrast in the splitters.

LIGHTWEIGHT Splitter Is On

Well this could not be any easier. Half hour, Start to finish.
The splitter is all pre drilled and the holes are countersunk.
I put the car up on rams to work on the underside of the front bumper cover.
Once it was up, you remove the 2 center screws of the bumper cover.
Then insert the 2 long screws provided and drop on the spacers.
Then screw them in place where you just removed the 2 OEM screws.
I checked the end fit on both sides and they were perfect.
I then held the splitter in place and drilled a 1/64" hole threw the under side of the bumper cover where all the pre drilled holes were.
Then screwed in 1" stainless steel screws into each of the 5 holes on each side.
Starting with the outside working in.
The fit is perfect from end to end.
It really finishes off the M bumper without changing, or covering anything.
The thickness of the LIGHTWEIGHT splitter is 3/8" on an inch, so that is all that it lowers the front of the car.
This is by far the best Cosmetic Mod I have done to my car.

ps. They did provide nice screws, but there was no place to a machine thread screw. (see pic)
Good thing I had stainless steel sheet metal screws on hand.

Thanks for the pics and DIY. I just ordered this splitter so I appreciate the pics. My only question is why you had to drill another hole?

I like the lightweight front lip a lot. Do you have to jack up your car or put it on a lift to get access to the bolts underneath? Can I install it without jacking up the car?

I just made a short ramp with 2 2"X6"X4' and 3 bricks on each side.
Just to get me ample room underneath.

Why couldn't you use the machine screws?

There are no machine threaded holes under the bumper cover in the area where the splitter goes.

Get some nice short (1") stainless steel screws, except where the extension tube go, use 2".

drive up to MD and i'll give you a hand.
