Should I use cooler spark plugs on BM3 Stage 2?
I have a '16 Auto RWD with AFE drop in filter, Evolution Racewerks CP, Intercooler, TIC, Active Autowerks Catted Downpipe and just got my BM3 license for a Stage 2 tune. Will be having a custom tune done in the future but going go off the shelf for now. Should I be changing my spark plugs?
Logging also seems pretty important, do I need to setup my logs or is everything logged automatically? I have OBD Wifi agent.

NGK reccomends that anytime you add 70 to 100hp you should go one step colder on your heat range. I'm currently FBO on my stage 2+ M235i and i run the NGK SILZKBR8 plugs found in the S55. They are one step colder. Depending on how high you're going with boost( Say you get a custom tune) I would say go two steps colder. The N26 engine plugs.
depending on how many Miles are on your plugs i would change them. I had 50,xxxKM on my stock plugs and they were fine. Switched them out for just recently to those NGK, Probably go 2 steps next change.

The trick with a boosted engine is you want the hottest plug appropriate for the compression/boost you're running. Not the "coldest"...
What I mean is to say that just because you've bumped your boost a few PSI and one step "colder" plug helps prevent "pre-ignition" (knock), it does not mean that a two-step colder plug will work better... And again, it's all in the scans, you can play with temp rating and gap to find the sweet spot! Good luck! |

What do you recommend or should I wait until I have logged some pulls? What should I check in the logs to get an idea of how things are doing?
