Well BM3 is a standard 600$... Jordan charges 500$... I just raced an M2C 3 times, won each time (80mph+ pulls).... Still not even done with revisions and the car is pulling! Last race was the biggest difference, meth injection >>>>. Another cool factor is my 164mph speed limiter is gone. Went like 175mph or something easy. Also he got the tune nearly complete in 5-6 revisions. From personal experience, Twisted Tuning takes 20+ revisions and goes ghost on you and doesnt even extract full potential. There is a reason Jordan is 500$ and Twisted is 300$. The support, quickness, and knowledge Jordan brings is worth the premium. He is actually one of the co developers of BM3 and has been in the industry far too long lol. to Jordan!

Great, I'll be sure to factor this all into my purchase, then. Thanks for the tips

I don't have bm3 yet. So I essentially buy bm3 for approx $600, and then a map from Cary for approximately $500 or whatever he ends up charging?

Or are you saying you can buy bm3 through him with his tuning service included?

I figured it was both individually, so somewhere in the ballpark of $1100 total?

Definitely going to be looking into this soon. I've still got some parts sitting in the closet that I'd like to get installed first though.

Yeah its a hike at 1100 in the end. Usually people that get a custom tune from him, i assume, already have BM3 or MHD so to most it is like a 500$ investment lol. What parts do you have sitting and on the car?

I do have mhd but it sounds like he prefers or only use bm3?

I have pure inlet, dv+, and vrsf tic in the closet. Just haven't had time to install.

I know none of those should make to much of a difference unless my dv is failing.... But prob best to have them all in place before starting to tune.

Well yeah i think he perfers it as he is one of the original developers of BM3. Although he is experienced so any platform should be good. Forsure, install those parts first as the logs are his only input for adjusting the street tune and you should portray the boost and flows more accurately to what will be. Your mods should technically allow the turbo to push more flow but yeah not much difference, as our actual turbo exhaust is the main clog point. Regardless he needs to accurately know where the tune needs some extra kicking and his restraints.

I'm looking at getting Cary to tune my M2 and came across this post.

Is it possible to do a remote dyno session and he does all the tuning in that one session and avoiding the need to do logging over multiple days?

As I don't want to log on the road due to the requirement of doing a 5th gear log (means speeds ~240km/h) I would have to book 4-6 dyno sessions to get the revisions.

Thanks.

I'll be going through him in the spring early summer and I'll have the same question. If I were tuning a less powerful car the logging on the road would be feasible. I'll chime back in here with what he says or how I ended up doing it

From my experience with other remote tuners, they have you do 3 logs in 3rd gear which will push you to ~80mph (~130kph). Still dangerous on normal streets. Little easier on the Interstate/Autobahn.

Dynos typically run in 5th gear only because it's the closest (or is the gear) to a 1:1 ratio to give the most accurate readings without reaching the maximum speed of the dyno. Logging can be done in any gear, but 3rd gives accurate readings within a relatively short window.

Whenever you buy a tune from him, do you always have to go through all the revisions or does he have custom maps that are just ready to go?

I believe you always go through the revisions. That’s why you pay the extra $600 or whatever it is to get a custom calibration.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I use MHD, how does cary work with you when you use MHD? Also does he send me a base map to go out and log with? Do a few pulls and then come back. And send him the logs? Go from there sort of deal until we hit max?

We offer custom MHD maps done by Cary.

He'll send him a base map, you'll send him datalogs, he'll respond with a map revision. Repeat this process until you are happy with the result

It took 2 tries on my car, very smooth process

Really? Can you send me a link to your website so I can check it out? Does he factor in whag boost level you're going for or how does he determine it? Does he ask what you want your car to do basically or?

Yes, you can give him suggestions on what you want the map to be and he'll adjust.

I'm not sure I understand the question about boost. Are you asking if he factors in what boost to target? Yes he does, that's part of the tuning process

I'm not allowed to post links on here, you can find it on my website by searching for MHD

I meant like, some people are gonna want a tune that's conservative and easily daily driven. Some people such as myself want to extract every pit of power out of the tune as far as we can. I guess he does considering it's a "custom" tune
