Exhaust recommendations.

Hey guys I was hoping to get some input as to what exhaust setup would help me achieve my goal of actually being able to hear my exhaust without being overly loud/drony. As of right now the only performance mods I have are a VRSF catless downpipe and a bootmod3 stage 1 tune. The catless downpipe definitely gave the car a more aggressive exhaust note, however unless the windows are rolled down you still can't appreciate any exhaust note. Obviously there are couple different options, such as a proper axel back, muffler delete, or a resonator delete. What would you all recommend. I'd love to hear yalls thoughts.

MPE is more than enough for me. You can hear it easily when you are on it but when you are just cruising it pretty much disappears.

Brian @ Sun Motors BMW normally has the best prices for it.

Perfect advice. Only thing I'd add is DIY the install it's very easy. Get an exhaust cutter on amazon for $15.

Mpe or Dinan would both be good options. I would definitely keep your resonator with whatever you do.

Mpe/ resonator delete/ stock down pipe is common.

If you if mpe/ resonator intact/ vrsf it would be similar. Probably a bit more aggressive and crackley.

I just did a AWE Exhaust with Midpipe. Can definitely hear it, burbles and cracks a lot more. Perfect for me.

Axle back refers to replacing the muffler.

Axle back means muffler
catback is muffler + midpipe
Turbo back is downpipe + midpipe + muffler

I meant can we buy this Remus muffler https://www.remusexhauststore.com/pr...2389771dd1.jpg and have 2 custom pipes + tips. Or we have to also get this https://www.google.com/search?q=remu...9k-wWpACxrxQM: to complete the Axle back setup? I really want to make the car louder. And buy it from x-ph because of how good your services are.

You need the tips to maintain the valved exhaust functionality. Hypothetically you could fab your own tips but it's probably best to buy them from Remus.

Thank you

In theory you can, you will save couple hundred dollars but it will not look as nice

remove the mid pipe and muffler, replace with high flow mid pipe and muffler.

Miltek, Dinan, Fabspeed, any of these should work. Just get one made for your car.
cattless with the above type approach will sound very good, tamed but exotic.

Cattless with stock midpipe and delete will be loud as fck too.

DM me, i have a fabspeed delete, and an ARK muffler and midpipe for sale.

^This. Brian at Sun gave me a great deal too.

The MPE sounds so dang good. It's fluid and slightly exotic sounding. There's no drone and is a BMW part thus fits perfect. It's not overly loud at all and I'm extremely picky. I'm 44 and routinely take my family in the car. It is very tame on the inside with the windows up or down, but when you give it some throttle, it sounds perfect. My car friends say it sounds absolutely perfect from the outside. I look forward to a little more volume once I install my HJS Euro 6 catted downpipe.
