The recently released pricing on the M3/4 is very reasonable IMO, but the entry price for the 235 is just absurd. I think BMW is seriously overestimating the value of their product here, but I guess the market will tell with time.

Does this mean that the M2 will be nearly the price of the M3/4?

What do you guys think the lease will be like on these? Im interested to see what BMW Financial says the risidual value is.

3 years/15k miles a year - $0 down + tax + tags....i would say around 700/month

Bummer there isn't more stand alone options available. Stinks when you want just one or two options in the Tech or Premium package but have to pay for it all...

That's why you don't pay for all of it, and vote with your wallet instead, either with BMW or with a manufacturer that sells what you want.

+1 again. I could order a MINI without clearance robbing high CG inducing moonroof, and with an LSD - why can't I do the same for an "Ultimate Driving Machine"? Guess I'll have to hold out for a couple more years to see how the M2 shapes up. Or, just go get a used Cayman or maybe a 4C. Darn BMWNA!

I don't know if to be excited that now I could finally get a better price understanding on this car or still dread the horrible deals they might offer for this car when it first comes out in march to be able to lease ... Just prepping myself because I would love to get this car or if not might just have to pass the prices just keep going up

Sure, and that is one of the reasons I haven't bought a new BMW in 13 years or even a new vehicle in 8 years.

Off Topic: I had my mind set to replace my 2005 Xterra with the new Subaru Forrester and then found out that you couldn't order one of the 2.0xt (turbo) models with anything but BLACK interior (even though their website by mistake showed a picture of one). I live in AZ, I will NEVER purchase a car with BLACK interior (especially leather) again. Anyway I complained to Subaru corporate.

So my twisted train of thought is that comparing apples to oranges, the difference between an M235 with a sunroof and a 228 with a sunroof only ends up being $6,950 (assuming no later stand-alone option).

It does make the 235 more palatable, especially since the rest of the PP is more nice to have stuff than it is stuff I care about. Now just have to pour over the other differences and see how much other crap there is on the 235 that I would not want to pay extra for. Well, and cry over no VO in the 235, of course.

Just to keep the threadjack alive, I find there's no difference in interior color, especially if the windows are tinted. Statistically there's very little difference even due to exterior color. Dark cars get hotter a little faster, and peak about 5 degrees hotter, but that's trivial.

$51,800 priced out on my build, That is still far less than the $55,000 MSRP on my 1M which was 3 model years earlier. Similar options minus the sunroof.

.....

except for the fact the 1m has

-more power and torque
-LSD
-M specific wheels and tires (9/10 inch instead of 7.5/8.5)
-complete m3 suspension
-wider track based on m3
-bespoke widebody bodywork

The 1M is a freaking STEAL compared to this car.

I still like the m235i, but the price is a bummer.

For what its worth, it works for me over standard USB audio in my 135is. I don't have iDrive/tech packages, just ye olde orange radio deck.

Really? I'd never even consider trading my 1M for an M235i. I've extensively test driven the M135i (which is basically the same car in hatchback form) and even though it's nice, it's nowhere near as special as a 1M.

Yeah don't get me wrong I think the 1M was a steal compared to this, it is all relative. This is priced basically the same as a 2013 135is.
