Possible to upgrade from non-nav to Nav?

I'm looking at used 2's, and am wondering if it's possible to upgrade a non-nav car to have nav.
Has anyone done this?

Yes,it’s called google maps,or Garmin,or Magellan or Tom Tom. Otherwise it would probably cost several thousand dollars. If it was even possible. I can’t imagine even attempting something like that. Not when there are so many other options.
You may be able to buy an after market radio that does the same thing. Check with crutchfields or Best Buy.

you can buy an official BMW nav retro fit system - this is what I have in my F22.

The original spec was non -nav, just the professional radio/cd with the crappy 6.5" screen.

then the original owner wanted nav so BMW retro fitted their own nav accessory.

but I have just bought a new NBT head unit to fit.

In my opinion, my Google Pixel (Google Maps) with voice activation is spot on and much easier to use. And no need to update the Nav.

I've used my phone in my 135is that did not have nav. biggest issue was that the USB connection couldn't keep up with the battery drain on the phone. there were smaller issues.

I configured the m240i with nav. don't think I'd path the price for an upgrade if I didn't have it but I'm glad I have it.

Me, I sort of wish I had PDC. doubt I'd ever upgrade to it tho.

It is possible but I would not attempt it. I suggest if you want nav get a car equipped with nav stock

I swapped out for the Avin unit. I now run Waze on the screen and it works great.

Do you have a coupe or convertible? The unit I saw on Avin website said specifically (in red) that it doesn't work with coupe?

My mistake. It looks like they have separate models for coupe and convertible. Anybody know how to tell if I have CIC or NBT? Any video's on installation in an F22?

Pretty sure 2016 is NBT. Search for images of the two; the differences are subtle, but you should be able to tell.

I have asked Avin if they're compatible with 2017 models; their website only lists up through 2016. I've received no response...
